Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable to locate a partial discharge generation position by applying an AC high voltage to the insulation of electric equipment, etc., to be tested and detecting a partial discharging current. CONSTITUTION:A commercial frequency AC voltage and a low-frequency AC voltage of lower than several Hz, preferably, one over several of 1Hz are applied from a high voltage power source 11 to the electric equipment 100 to be tested and a partial discharge measuring instrument 13 measure respective partial discharging pulses by the polarities. Then the combination conditions of whether or not there is a positive/negative partial discharging pulse and the frequency are collated with predetermined combinational conditions by partial discharging generation parts to grasp the combinational conditions corresponding to the partial discharging generation positions by object electric equipment 100. Consequently, the combinational conditions are collated with a measurement result to locate the partial discharging generation position of the electric equipment 100. Further, the partial discharging generation part is located not by comparing the level of maximum part discharging charges, but by detecting whether or not there are partial discharging charges.
