Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate the generation of a partially discharged probing voltage for measurement simply with the building of a desired set of a function wave generating circuit section and a DC high voltage generating circuit, by arranging a resistor parallel with a sample and a positive-negative selector switch. CONSTITUTION:A parallel resistor 4 is set parallel with a sample 9 to discharge a residual charge of the sample 9 before the measurement of a partial discharge. With such an arrangement, only a unipolar high voltage low frequency power source unit made up of a low frequency function wave generating circuit 1 for making a desired waveform and a DC high voltage generating circuit 2 can be used to measure partial discharge for positive and negative. A result-of- computation display/recorder 14 displays and records the results of computation of a pulse measuring circuit 13. It also computes, displays and records an average partial discharge rate and a partial discharge rate from a total quantity of electricity discharged of a partial discharge measured with a 3-mode integrator 12 and an electrostatic capacitance and a probing voltage peak value measured separately.
