Abstract

PURPOSE:To smoothly form a flow of fluid from a diffuser outlet by forming the shape of a blade in a diffuser in the final stage increasing the spread of a flow path between the blades in the side wall near a suction port and decreasing that in the side wall distant from the suction port, in a spread part of the flow path between the adjacent blades. CONSTITUTION:A multi-stage centrifugal pump arranges in multiple stages in the axial direction a diffuser 4 guiding an outflow from a centrifugal impeller 3 to the outer direction promoting the restoration of static pressure, curved flow path 5 guiding a flow of outer direction to a flow of inner direction and a return flow path 6 guiding the flow to the inlet of a centrifugal impeller in the next stage. An outflow from a diffuser 7 in the final stage is guided to a delivery port 9 of the pump through a flow path 8. Here in case of the diffuser 7 in the final stage, a blade of the diffuser forms its shape to be determined in a manner wherein the spread of a flow path between the blades increases in the side of a side wall 7a while decreases in the side of a side wall 7b, in a spread part of the flow path overlapping adjacent diffuser blades 7c.
