Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the defect in casting and to improve the quality of a casting by filling a molten metal in the cavity space enlarged by moving a mold to a gradient draft side and executing casting by returning the mold to a normal position. CONSTITUTION:A mold 10 is formed by the dies of a lower die 12, horizontal die 14 and upper die 16 and the upper die 16 is ascended by a specified amt. Z1 from the clearly fixed position of a normal cavity space 18. The mold 10 is then returned to the original position with filling a molten metal in a cavity 18a by tilting the mold 10 to fill up a molten metal 26 in the cavity space 18. When the upper die 16 is descended to a normal position, the molten metal 26 inside a cavity 18b is moved to risers 20a, 20b in unsolidified state and casting defects are reduced with the pressurization of the upper die 16. Due to the running at the casting time being improved, the turbulence, etc. are eliminated and the quality of casting is improved.
