Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the shock at starting of a compressor by providing a pulse generating means for continuously applying a pulse having a predetermined pulse width and pulse interval to an electromagnetic clutch. CONSTITUTION:When an air conditioner switch 51 is turned on, an output voltage S of a voltage regulator 50 becomes a H level, and a pulse train B generated from a pulse generating circuit 52 is supplied through an OR circuit 54 to a power transistor 56 to drive same and drive an excitation coil 3, thus engaging an electromagnetic clutch. When a predetermined time (about 1.5 sec., for example, set in an ON delay circuit 53 is elapsed, an output signal A of the ON delay circuit 53 becomes H. Accordingly, the power transistor 56 continues to be on through the OR circuit 54, and the excitation coil 3 continues to be excited. On the other hand, when the switch 51 is turned off, the power transistor 56 is turned off after the predetermined time set in the ON delay circuit 53, and the energy of the excitation coil 3 is discharged by a discharging circuit 57-59, thus releasing the electromagnetic clutch. Thus, the shock at starting of a compressor may be reduced.
