Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce power consumption of a print wire driving solenoid and improve a power effeciency by controlling one of the width and the period, at least, of the pulse train, which is obtained by pulse-modulating a drive control signal, according to fluctuation of the power source voltage.
CONSTITUTION: When drive control signal A is applied to terminal P1, one-shot multivibrator W1 is driven to output output C. Meanwhile, one-shot multivibrator W2 outputs output B by applying clock pulse CL. Then, D is obtained as the output of gate G2, and output E is generated from gate G3. Then, Tr1 and Tr2 are activated to flow a current to coil L, however, no excessive current is flowed because the latter part of the current is made into pulses. Next, Tr3 and Tr2 are activated by applying signal P2 similarly to the case of P1, and an opposite-polarity current is flowed to coil L. Then, the pulse width of one-shot multivibrator W2 is adjusted by the detection signal for fluctuation of the power source voltage dependent upon voltage fluctuation detection circuit A, so that the quantity of the current flowed to coil L may be always fixed.
