Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce smoke at all speed ranges by forming a projecting, which is tilted gently and at a climbing angle steeper than both sides of a guide recess, in the piston central direction from the position conformed to a nozzle part of a combustion subchamber. CONSTITUTION:At a low speed range of an engine, since a piston 2 yet remains in and around a top dead point at that point when a jet stream out of a nozzle part 6 of a subchamber 4 enters a guide recess 7, the jet advances toward guide recess double sides 9, 9 small in passage resistance, guided by circular recesses 8, 8, and it is formed into a swirl so that fuel and air are favorably mixed. At a high speed range, since the piston 2 already went down a little from the top dead point at that point when the jet enters the guide recess 7, the jet moves on a projecting part 10 being gently tilted and small in the passage resistance, guide to the outside of the recess, so that it is favorably mixed with air at the outside of the recess. Consequently, at all speed ranges of the engine, combustibility is improved, thus smoke is reducible.
