Abstract
PURPOSE: To purify exhaust gas and to improve the output by injecting fuel in a small spraying angle by the top of a needle valve in a low velocity of fuel, and in a small spraying angle partly by the work of eddy currents in a high velocity fuel.
CONSTITUTION: In this engine, a large sub-combustion chamber 5 and a small sub-combustion chamber 6 are provided in a cylinder head 1 to be connected to a main combustion chamber through a connecting hole 7, and a fuel injection valve 10 in the large sub-combustion chamber 5 and ignition plug 8 in the small sub- combustion chamber 6 are respectively provided. Here, in the fuel injection valve 10, when the discharge of a fuel injection pump is low, since the flow-velocity of the fuel is low to be introduced into an eddy chamber 16 through a fuel passage 13d, fuel is adapted to give little eddy currents in the eddy chamber 16 and sprayed in a small spraying angle Θ. Meanwhile, when the above-written discharge is high, the fuel is injected from the eddy chamber 16 as generating eddy currents, and sprayed in a large spraying angle Θ'.
