Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce a conflict between transmitting terminals and to utilize a line efficiently by controlling a mail separately as a mail main body and a header part, sending only the header part, and reserving transmission time. CONSTITUTION:A transmission-side terminal 12A generates the mail main body 17 and header part 23 first and stores and registers them in the main part and schedule control part of an on-line storage device 16A respectively. Then a request to send is sent according to an opposite station address and the header part 23 which consists of desired transmission time 21, a mail main body data quantity 22, and a comment part 19 is transmitted to a reception-side terminal 12B through the line 15 between terminals A and B. A reception required time is calculated from the data amount of the received header part 23 by a terminal 12B and registered as the reception necessary time 25 of a schedule control part in an on-line storage device 16B, and when there is a receivable time zone, the receivable time is sent back to the terminal 12A through a line 15. The terminal 12A sends the mail main body 17 at the sent-back time.
