Abstract
PURPOSE:To shorten the erasing of recording and erasing characteristics and to decrease recording power so that good recording, reproducing and erasing characteristics are obtd. by using an alloy consisting of tellurium, antimony, silver, and copper for an active material which indicates the change in the optical constant of an optical information recording medium. CONSTITUTION:The alloy consisting of the tellurium (Te), antimony (Sb), silver (Ag), and copper (Cu) is used for the active material which indicates the change in the optical constant. Recording, reproducing and erasing of information are executed by using means such as light, heat, etc., to generate the change in the optical constant of the optical information recording and reproducing medium. The compsn. of the active material is composed of (Te100-xCux)50Sb25Ag25 (0<x<50) substd. with a part of Te of a stoichimetrical ternary compd. (Te50Sb25Ag25). The compsn. is of the value near the compd. Te50Sb25Ag25 in which the components of Te, Sb and Ag are within the range of F, G, H, J, K, L in the diagram and part of Ag is substd. with Cu.
