Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an optical information recording medium having a high and easily controllable transition temperature and a high C/N, being hardly oxidized and having long-time stability, by composing a thin recording film mainly four elements, i.e., tellurium (Te), germanium (Ge), antimony (Sb) and selenium (Se). CONSTITUTION:A thin recording film consists of mainly four elements, i.e., tellurium (Te), germanium (Ge), antimony (Sb) and selenium (Se), the composition being not particularly restricted. For an excellent effect to be more sufficiently displayed, it is preferable that the composition of the thin film satisfies the following composition formula: (Te 100-y Ge y)100-x(Sb 100-z Se z)x, with 3<=X<=35, 30<=Y<=60 and 15<=Z<=70, wherein X is the atom.% of (Sb, Se) based on (Te, Ge, Sb, Se), Y is on the atom.% of Ge based on (Te, Ge), and Z is the atom.% of Se based on (Sb, Se).
