Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 〈産業上の利用分野〉 本発明は熱可塑性プラスチックフレーム(プラスチック
ハウジング等の筐体を含む)にプリント基板などの板状
体を取付ける取付構造及びその取付方法に関する。
〈従来の技術〉 従来、プラスチックフレームにプリント基板を取付ける
場合、該フレームの突起に螺子穴を刻設し、対応するプ
リント基板にも透孔を穿設し、該透孔及び螺子穴にネジ
を螺着していた。このネジ止めの方法はネジ止め作業に
時間を要するばかりでなく、ネジ止め作業員を確保しな
ければならず組立てコストが高くなるなどの難点があっ
た。そこで、これを解消するために、別の取付手段とし
て、ヒートウエルダーもしくは超音波ウエルダーによる
取付方法が採用されている。ところがヒートウエルダー
を採用した場合、ヒート加工の時間が長い上に、設備が
小型でヒーターコントロールが難しく、しかも作業者が
火傷をするなどの欠点がある。一方、超音波ウエルダー
を採用した場合、加工時間は短い反面、設備が高価とな
るばかりでなく超音波による人体への影響を無視できな
いなどの問題があった。
上記ヒート加工に代えて、プレスなどの冷間加工を行な
った場合、フレームが固化したプラスチック製であり、
それ自体の塑性変形が物性上余り大きくないため、無理
に変形させるとクラック等のヒビ割れが発生し強度が保
てなくなるなどの問題があった。
本発明は上記の問題点を解消するためになされたもので
、プラスチックフレームに板状体を取付けるに当り、ヒ
ート加工によることなく、プレスによる冷間カシメにて
クラック等のヒビ割れが一切生じない強度のある取付構
造及びその取付方法を提供することを目的としたもので
ある。
〈問題点を解決するための手段〉 本発明に係るプラスチックフレームへの板状体の取付構
造は、プラスチックフレームに形成した突起を、板状体
に穿設した透孔に貫通させ、該突起の頭部が板状体に係
止する如く鍔状に膨出し、かつ連続する山形部を前記頭
部の表面に一体に形成したものである。
また本発明に係るプラスチックフレームへの板状体の取
付方法は、受治具にプラスチックフレームを設置し、該
フレームの突起を板状体の取付用の透孔に貫通した状態
で該フレームに板状体をセットした後、所定の開き角、
深さ及びピッチを備えた連続する山形歯を形成したパン
チでプレスして前記プラスチック突起の頭部を冷間カシ
メしたものである。
〈実施例〉 以下、本発明の実施例を図面により説明する。
(1)は受治具で、プラスチックフレーム(2)(プラ
スチックハウジングなどの筐体を含む)を受ける窪み(
1a)を有している。プラスチックフレーム(2)は受
治具(1)に設置される。このフレーム(2)はABS
、ポリエステル、ポリカーボネイト、アクリルなどの熱
可塑性の材料で成型されている。プラスチックフレーム
(2)の適所には、後記するプリント基板などの板状体
(3)を保持する受部(2a)が一体に形成されており
、該受部(2a)上に突起(4)が一体に成型されてい
る。プリント基板などの板状体(3)は、プラスチック
フレーム(2)の受部(2a)の突起(4)に対応した
位置に透孔(3a)を穿設する。該透孔(3a)に突起
(4)貫通させ、板状体(3)を受部(2a)で支承す
る。突起(4)の板状体(3)からの突出長及び太さは
、プラスチック材料の種類に応じてカシメ止めに必要な
長さ及び太さであればよいが、余り長いと割れや曲がり
などの破損の原因となる。また透孔(3a)の大きさも
突起(4)の膨みによって損傷しないように多少膨み代
を考慮したものとする。(5)はプラスチック(2)及
び板状体(3)の上方に設置したプレスで、例えばパワ
ープレス、エアープレス、油圧プレスなどが使用される
。プレス(5)はパンチホルダー(6)と、該ホルダー
(6)に垂下する如く取付けたパンチ(7)と、該ホル
ダー(6)に垂下し、周りに圧着スプリング(9)を装
着したストリッパーガイド(8)と、該ガイド(8)に
案内されて上昇、下降するストリッパー(10)からな
る。パンチ(7)は各突起(4)と対応した上方に設置
し、その先端は頂−5一 部が尖鋭な連続する山形歯(7a)を有しており、歯の
平面形状は例えば横筋、縦筋あるいは斜筋型、格子型、
斜格子型などとなっている(第3図(a)〜(C)参照
)。このパンチ(7)の先端の連続する山形歯(7a)
は所定の開き角θ、深ざd及びピッチPを備え、プラス
チック材料の種類、プレス圧等の条件によって適宜選定
される。
上記構成のプレス(5)によりプラスデックフレーム(
2)への板状体(3)の取付方法について説明する。
まず、受治具(1)にプラスチックフレーム(2)をセ
ットし、該フレーム(2)の突起(4)を板状体(3)
の透孔(3a)に貫通させ、受部(2a)上にプラスチ
ックフレーム(2)を支承する。次に各突起(4)の上
方にパンチ(1)をセットし、プレス(5)のパンチホ
ルダー(6)を所定位置だけ降下させ、ストリッパー(
10)が板状体(3)に当るようにする。次いでパンチ
(7)で各突起(4)に瞬間的に高いプレス圧例えば3
00〜3000/(g/ ciを加えて冷間カシメを行
なう。すると、パンチ(7)先端の連続する山彩画(7
a)が突起(4)の頭部に喰込むと同時に頭部の衝撃力
が該歯の開き角によって緩和されると同時に頭部を喰ね
え込んでプレスするので均等な塑性変形が行なわれ、突
起(4)の頭部が板状体(3)の透孔(3a)を塞ぎ鍔
状に膨出すると同時にその表面に連続する山形部(11
)が形成される。突起(4)の頭部に山形部(11)が
形成されたら、パンチ(7)を上昇させる。この時、ス
トリッパー(10)で板状体(3)を押えておき、プラ
スチックフレーム(2)と板状体(3)がパンチ(7)
と−緒に上昇しないようにする。最後にプレス(5)全
体を上昇させ、受治具(1)から板状体(3)を装着し
たグラスチックフレーム(2)を取外して作業を終る。
〈発明の効果〉 本発明は上記構成からなるプラスチックフレームの板状
体の取付構造及びその取付方法とすることにより、ヒー
ト加工によることなく、プレスによる冷間カシメにてク
ラック等のヒビ割れ等が生じない強度のある取イ]構造
及びその取付方法が得られる。
また、本発明の取付方法によれば、加工時間が秒単位に
短縮され、安価な設備で簡単に加工でき、保守メンテナ
ンスも楽である。
しかもヒート加工を一切要しないで、冷間カシメである
ために、ヤケドや超音波障害といったことからも解放さ
れ、安全に作業が出来る上に加工精度も高く信頼性に優
れているなどの利点を有している。

Claims (2)

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. (1)プラスチックフレームに形成した突起を、板状体
    に穿設した透孔に貫通させ、該突起の頭部が板状体に係
    止する如く鍔状に膨出し、かつ連続する山形部を前記頭
    部の表面に一体に形成したことを特徴とするプラスチッ
    クフレームへの板状体の取付構造。
  2. (2)受治具にプラスチックフレームを設置し、該フレ
    ームの突起を板状体の取付用の透孔に貫通した状態で該
    フレームに板状体をセットした後、所定の開き角、深さ
    及びピッチを備えた連続する山形歯を形成したパンチで
    プレスして前記プラスチック突起の頭部を冷間カシメし
    たことを特徴とするプラスチックフレームへの板状体の
    取付方法。
