Abstract

PURPOSE:To easily detect a fault with a few hardwares by checking the coincidence between two signals at each mount unit and taking it as a fault in case of noncoincidence. CONSTITUTION:Detection circuits 11, 21, 31 and 41 check the coincidence between the two signals and when the both are noncoincidence, it is detected as a fault. A common signal on lines 12, 22, 32 and 42 is outputted at the outside of the mount units 10, 20, 30 and 40. The common signal on the line 12 is received by the unit 20, the common signal on the line 22 is received by the unit 30 and the common signal from each unit takes over serially among the units. For example, a fault which takes place in the common signal on the line 22 is detected by the detection circuits 21 and 31.

(Prior art) Conventionally, if a fault occurs in a common signal commonly used by each mounting unit of this type, failure detection involves determining whether or not all the common signals used by each mounting unit match. was detected, and if they did not match, it was considered a failure.

(Problems to be Solved by the Invention) In the conventional fault detection device described above, faults are detected based on whether or not all common signals match. Therefore, as the number of mounting units increases, the hardware becomes large. However, since it is difficult to detect a fault, it is difficult to point out the common signal where the fault has occurred.

The purpose of the present invention is to eliminate the above-mentioned drawbacks by checking the coincidence of two signals for each mounting unit, and outputting it as a fault if there is a mismatch between the two, so that the fault can be easily detected with a small amount of hardware. An object of the present invention is to provide a fault detection device that provides a fault detection device.

41, it is checked whether the two numbers match, and if they do not match, it is detected as a failure. The common signal on the signal lines 12, 22.degree. 32.42 is a signal commonly used by each mounting unit, and is output to the outside of the mounting unit 10.20.degree. 30.40. The common signal output from the mounting unit 10 to the signal line 12 is received by the mounting unit 20, the common signal output from the mounting unit 20 to the signal line 22 is received by the mounting unit 30, and so on. Common signals output from the mounting units are serially inherited between the mounting units.

For example, a fault is detected by the detection circuit 21 and the detection circuit 3 where a fault occurs in the common signal on the signal line 22. In other words, if the detection circuit 21 and the detection circuit 31 detect a fault, this means that a fault has occurred in the common signal on the signal line 22.

(Effects of the Invention) As explained above, the present invention easily detects the common No. 18 failure by checking the coincidence of two signals for each mounting unit and outputting a failure if they do not match. This has the effect that failures can be easily detected even when the number of implementation units increases. Furthermore, since multiple failures rarely occur in a common signal, the common signal that has caused the failure can be easily pointed out.
