In order to reduce external shocks, guard moldings are attached to vehicle body attachment parts, such as on the outside of vehicle bumpers, for example. As shown in Figs. 1 to 5, guard moldings are Those who applied for the measures first (Jet No. 1983
No. 78630, Utility Model No. 57-3048). This shows a guard molding that protects the front bumper of a vehicle 3 from the front, and this guard molding includes a molding body 1 that extends in the longitudinal direction and is molded to be attached to the vehicle body attachment part 2, that is, the bumper. , reinforcing ribs 4 and 5 provided on the inner periphery of the molding body 1 to reinforce the molding body 1, and claw members 6 protruding from the molding body 1 and integrally molded with the reinforcing ribs 4 and 5. Become. The reinforcing ribs include a horizontal rib 4 extending along the longitudinal direction of the molding body 1 and a vertical rib extending substantially perpendicularly to the horizontal rib 4 to ensure reinforcement of the molding body 1. There are directional ribs 5. Further, as is clear from FIGS. 2 and 4, the vertical ribs 5 may be formed into a parallel rib structure extending in pairs, or auxiliary ribs 10 extending parallel to the horizontal ribs 4 may be provided in places. There is also one in which the rigidity of the molding body 1 is further increased. The claw member 6 is made up of a pair of engaging pieces 7 each having a generally wedge-shaped cross section, each having a tapered and pointed distal end 11 and a locking portion 12 at its base end. A gap is formed between 7 and a wall member 8 is provided within the gap. Then, the tip part 11 of the claw member 6 is placed in the hole 9 made in the vehicle body mounting part 2, and the molding main body 1 is hit from behind with a hammer or the like to push the claw member 6 into the hole 9 and move the molding main body to the vehicle 3. It is designed to be installed in

The wall member 8 is provided to allow the upper and lower pairs of engagement pieces 7 to bend and raise with a certain strength, and can be of various shapes as shown in FIGS. 5a to 5c. The engaging piece 7 is made to have a certain rigidity against the force applied in the direction of the arrow F. Therefore, the effect of reducing impact is great.

However, this guard molding has reinforcing ribs 4 and 5 formed on the inner circumference of the molding main body 1.
consists of a flat plate-like member directly connected to the outer peripheral edge of the molding body 1 and integrally formed with the claw member 6, which makes it easy to attach the guard molding to the vehicle body. The pressing force generated when a blow is applied to the molding body 1 when attaching it to the part 2 easily escapes in the horizontal or vertical direction through the reinforcing ribs 4 and 5, and transmits sufficient insertion force to the claw member 6. There was a risk that I would not be able to do so. This is also because the wall member 8 has poor elasticity due to its structure.
Another contributing factor was that the bending performance of the engagement piece 7 was reduced. Therefore, in order to engage the claw member 6 with the hole 9, it is necessary to apply an excessive impact force to the molding body 1, which may damage the outer surface of the molding body 1, or conversely, the impact force may not be sufficient. A situation such as some of the plurality of claw members 6 not being securely locked is likely to occur. This unreliable locking and large impact force may cause the guard molding to undergo deformation such as waving or undulating, cracks or fractures, or vibrations caused by the vehicle 3 when running may damage the guard molding. There was also a fear that this could easily be transmitted and cause chattering noise.

The present invention is an improvement on such a prior application.
The first purpose is to cut groove-like slits or notches at appropriate intervals in the reinforcing ribs that are provided to reinforce the guard molding and support the claw members for attaching the guard molding. By forming this part, when the striking force of the guard molding is applied at the rear position of the claw member, this striking force is concentratedly applied to the claw member, and the guard molding can be easily attached and fixed to the vehicle body mounting part. By doing so, it is possible to improve workability, prevent deformation of the guard molding, and ensure reliable installation. In addition, in order to more smoothly bend and raise the engaging portion of the pawl member when inserting the pawl member into the hole of the vehicle body mounting portion by the above-mentioned impact force,
A second object of the present invention is to provide a highly elastic wall member between the engaging portions to further improve the workability of installing the guard molding.

A claw member 6 that is integrally molded with the reinforcing ribs 4 and 5 and protrudes from the molding main body 1 has a pair of engagement pieces 7 spaced apart from each other at a constant interval.
A wall member 8 is provided between the engagement pieces 7 to maintain the deflection performance of the engagement piece 7 constant and on the other hand to restrict the deflection deformation to some extent. This wall member 8
In order to further improve the deflection performance of the engagement piece 7, various structures can be considered. For example, FIG. 7 is a perspective view showing a claw member 6 provided with such an engaging piece. This claw member 6 is formed by a pair of engaging pieces 7 having a base end at the intersection of a reinforcing rib 4 extending in the horizontal direction and a reinforcing rib 5 extending in the vertical direction, and extending toward the distal end. Between the engaging pieces 7, there is a diagonal position portion 1 of the engaging piece 7 as shown in FIG.
Wall member 8a extending diagonally across 8 and 19

Since the guard molding of the present invention has the above-described configuration, in order to attach the guard molding to the vehicle body attachment part 2 such as a bumper, the outer surface of the base 16 of the molding body 1 is attached to the rear part of a certain claw member 6. When a striking force is applied to, for example, the reinforcing ribs 4 extending in the horizontal direction are affected by the slits 13a, 13b, and 13c as well as the notches 17.
Transmission is obstructed by the notches A, and if we look at the reinforcing ribs 5 extending in the vertical direction,
Transmission is obstructed by the notch A at 3d. In particular, in the reinforcing rib 4, since the slits 13b and 13c are arranged in parallel, the impact force divided by the slit 13b is divided again by the slit 13c and the notch 17, which greatly reduces the dissipation of the impact force. can be reduced to Therefore, the impact force acts intensively as a pressing force on the pawl member 6, pushing the tip end 11 of the pawl member 6 into the hole 9 of the vehicle body mounting portion 2. Correspondingly, the engaging pieces 7 of the claw member 6 gradually move toward each other and into the bending hole 9.
Since the wall member 8 formed between the engagement pieces 7 is made to have a more elastic structure than the conventional one, the engagement pieces 7 do not buckle and their bending action is extremely smooth. The clamping and fixing is performed at the locking portion 12. Therefore, the guard molding can be reliably locked by the locking part 12, and even if there is variation in dimensional accuracy of the hole 9 of the vehicle body attachment part 2, this variation can be easily absorbed. .

9 and 10 show variations of the invention showing different shapes of the notches A formed in the reinforcing ribs, in particular the reinforcing ribs 4 extending in the transverse direction. As is clear from these figures, the reinforcing rib 4 has a reference numeral 20.
A slit reaching up to the base 16 as shown in
A slit 13 that extends halfway with respect to the depth of the reinforcing rib 4, a notch 21 formed with a constant length in the longitudinal direction of the reinforcing rib 4, or a recess that is slightly deformed from the notch 21. A notch A such as 22 can be formed. For example, slit 20
Such cuts prevent undulating deformation of the molding body 1, and in particular, prevent the reinforcing ribs 4 having the slits 20 from becoming taut due to changes in temperature between summer and winter.
To prevent the transmission of the impact force that causes a local denting effect to other parts in the event of a minor vehicle collision, to prevent deflection in the longitudinal direction, and to prevent the external force applied to the plurality of claw members 6 from becoming excessive. do. Furthermore, the other slits, cuts 13, 21, 22, and other cut portions A can also increase the rigidity of the molding body 1 while dividing the impact force applied to the guard molding.

As described above, according to the present invention, the reinforcing rib is provided in the inner peripheral portion of the molding main body and extends in the horizontal or vertical direction and supports the claw member for attaching and fixing to the vehicle body. In the guard molding, a notch is formed in the reinforcing rib to prevent the impact force applied to the molding body when the guard molding is installed from escaping through the reinforcing rib, so that pressing force is concentrated on the claw member. As a result, the guard molding can be easily installed and the surface of the guard molding can be prevented from being damaged by impact. Furthermore, by making the member provided between the engagement pieces of the claw member more elastic, the installation of the guard molding can be made even easier, and after the guard molding is installed, Even if there is some variation in the diameter of the hole formed in the vehicle body attachment part, the claw member can fit correctly into the hole, and the tolerance range for accuracy can be widened. . By appropriately changing the size of the notch formed in the reinforcing rib, various effects such as reducing the influence of deformation of the reinforcing rib on the molding body can be obtained.
