Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a cosmetic having excellent spread, moisture, smoothness, fruitful feeling in use low greasiness, good adaptability to the skin and durable water retaining effects, using both carboxymethyl chitin and a mucopolysaccharide. CONSTITUTION:Any cosmetic such as facial cosmetic, hair cosmetic, make-up cosmetic or body cosmetic is blended with (A) preferably 0.001-5wt.%, especially 0.005-1wt.% based on sum of the cosmetic of carboxymethyl chitin and (B) 0.001-5wt.% one or more mucopolysaccharide selected from hyaluronic acid, chondroitin-4 or 6-sulfuric acid, dextran sulfate, dermatan sulfate, keratan sulfate, heparin and a salt thereof as essential components in the weight ratio of the component A/B of preferably 100/1-1/50, especially 10/1-1/5 to give a cosmetic having the above-mentioned effects on the skin and excellent safety.
