Abstract

PURPOSE:To process an input sentence including the quotation marks by means of the same grammar rule as an input sentence including no quotation mark, by storing the positions of quotation marks and producing a sentence where the quotation marks are once deleted. CONSTITUTION:The position of each word is indicated in an input sentence and presence or absence of the quotation marks is checked. If the quotation marks are included in the sentence, a fact that the mark shows an opening double-fort quotation mark (') is stored together with the position of the word having the mark. Then a closing quotation mark (') is searched and stored together with the position of the word having this mark. In case the input sentence includes no quotation mark excluding the searched ones, the quotation marks of the stored position are erased out of a buffer for input sentences. As a result, the subsequent dictionary consulting and morpheme analyzing processes are equal to those applied to an input sentence including no quotation mark. The translation processing is carried out by a CPU 1 based on a program stored in a main memory 2.

することを可能とし、文法規則のコンパクト化を図るこ
とを目的とする。
