However, it is extremely difficult for wheelchair users to use escalators, and even if they get on the escalator with an attendant, they will not be able to stand on the first step of the escalator in a horizontal position, and will have to straddle two steps. Since the wheelchair must be tilted, there is a high possibility that the wheelchair will fall, which is very dangerous.

Additionally, escalators with a special structure that carry both wheelchairs and general passengers cannot often be installed due to the structure of station buildings, etc. On the other hand, there are places where escalators exclusively for wheelchairs are installed, but they are not escalators for general users. The disadvantage is that it must be installed separately.

The operating means 33 of the hydraulic cylinder 30 is connected to a power unit 34 (pump, motor, oil tank, ) and a battery 35 for its operating power source. In addition, 36 in the figure is a detection device that detects step movement in the escalator step S and operates the hydraulic cylinder actuating means 33,
0 near the tip stopper roller 25. This detection device 36 consists of a detection switch 38 mounted on the switchboard frame 20 via a bracket 37, and a switch actuation rod 40 which is vertically movable and has a step contact roller 39 at its lower end. The step contact trochanter 39 of the switch actuation rod 40
spring 41 (this spring 41 is connected to the rod lower limit stopper flange 41a) which protrudes near the horizontal installation surface of the wheel 1 and is biased to the lower limit position as shown in FIG. (interposed between the brackets 37), the switch actuating rod 40 with the trochanter 39 is pushed up in accordance with the step forming movement as shown in FIGS. 2 and 3, or vice versa. When the rod 40 is lowered by a spring in accordance with the horizontal step formation movement from the step section, the detection switch 38 is actuated by the rod being pushed up or lowered, and the hydraulic cylinder 30 moves the floor frame 20 to move the step by one step. 3, or push up as shown in FIG. 4. In addition, numeral 42 in the figure indicates a rubber mat attached to the rear lower surface of the floor frame 20.

Next, to explain how to use the auxiliary trolley configured as described above, first, the attendant A who has been pushing the wheelchair C stops the wheelchair C near the entrance of the escalator E, and then the attendant A wheelchair C loaded with a user is placed on the auxiliary cart (floor frame 20) of the present invention, and the auxiliary cart carrying the wheelchair is pushed to an escalator entrance (hereinafter, the case of a lower floor entrance will be described). At this point, the escalator E is switched to the wheelchair operation mode and operated at low speed, and after waiting for this low speed operation, the trolley is loaded onto the escalator steps S as shown in FIG. Then, as shown in FIG. 2, the step S starts to move to form a step, and when the switch actuating rod 40 with the trochanter 25, which is normally pressed down by the spring 41, is pushed up by the step S, the detection switch 38 operates. The hydraulic cylinder 30 is activated and the piston rod 31 is retracted to lift the floor frame 20 to the maximum step S (the step equivalent to one step). Then, as shown in Fig. 3, when the step S reaches the maximum step, the piston movement stops, and the floor frame 20 on which the wheelchair C is placed is moved between the four wheels 1 and the rubber mat on the lower surface of the underframe 21 that is in contact with the surface of the step S. 42 (at this time, the rubber mat 42 is supported by the floor frame 20 and the step S
It not only prevents people from coming into contact and hurting each other, but also
(It also prevents the cart from slipping), and it is moved upward while always maintaining a horizontal state. Then, when the escalator step S on which the auxiliary cart is mounted moves from the step part to near the horizontal part of the upper step step and starts a horizontal movement, the detection switch 38 is operated again by lowering the rod by spring bias, The hydraulic cylinder 30 extends in accordance with the horizontal movement of the steps S to lower the floor frame 20 while always keeping it horizontal, and when the steps reach the horizontal part of the upper floor, the piston rod 31 extends. The operation of the hydraulic cylinder 30 is stopped. Therefore, if the cart is pushed out in this state as shown in FIG. 4, it can be easily lowered to the floor 43 side from the upper escalator entrance.

The usage method described above was explained for raising the auxiliary trolley carrying a wheelchair from the lower floor entrance to the upper floor entrance of escalator E, but the same cylinder action as described above is also applied when lowering the escalator E from the lower floor entrance to the upper floor entrance. Since the wheelchair auxiliary trolley for escalators of the present invention has the structure described above, it can be safely used by wheelchair users accompanied by an attendant even on general escalators, and it can be used to assist the wheelchair while being transported on the escalator. It is possible to eliminate the danger that the trolley will fall along with the wheelchair user and the attendant. Furthermore, in the trolley structure of the present invention, the four wheels provided on the rolling frame ride on one step, so when the auxiliary trolley carrying a wheelchair is loaded onto the escalator or taken down from the escalator, the operation of the escalator is stopped. This is not necessary and has the effect of making escalator operation easier.
