An example of a conventional semiconductor light emitting device (hereinafter abbreviated as light emitting device) is shown in cross-sectional view in FIG.
The LED lamp 1 is mounted inside a reflector 2 as shown in the cross-sectional view in Fig. 2, sealed with a sealing resin, and then sealed with a diffuser lens 3 which also serves as a cover, and assembled, as shown in the side view in Fig. 3. It becomes like this. Each of the above-mentioned parts will be explained in detail. First, the LED lamp 1 is constructed by attaching a light emitting element pellet 1c to one of the leads 1a and 1b and applying electrode wiring, and sealing the lead and the light emitting element pellet attached to the end portion with a transparent epoxy resin 1d in contact with the lead. A light emitting surface and a guide path for static light emission are formed. Next, 2 is a reflector and
The LED lamp 1 is surrounded by a cylinder made of ABS resin, one end of the inner surface is in close contact with the base of the LED lamp, and the inner surface forms a reflective surface 2a that reflects the light emitted from the LED lamp. This reflected light is guided to the other end. Further, a diffusion lens 3 which also serves as a cover and forms a part of the envelope facing the reflective surface and which diffuses the light emitting surface and the reflected light is attached to the other end of the cylinder of the reflector and is sealed with a resin. 4.For example, the epoxy resin is press-fitted and sealed in one piece. At this time, the sealing resin 4 overflows from between the reflector 2 and the diffusing lens 3 in the direction shown by the dashed arrow in FIG. 2, forming a fixed sealing resin body 4' as shown in FIG. do.

Since the above-mentioned sealing resin 4' significantly impairs the appearance of the light emitting device, there has been a strong demand for countermeasures against this problem.

The light-emitting element according to this invention is an LED lamp equipped with a synthetic resin envelope 1d that contacts and integrally seals a lead and a light-emitting element pellet attached to the end of the lead, and forms a light-emitting path and a light-emitting surface. 1 and
A cylindrical reflector 12 in which the envelope of the LED lamp is coaxially inserted and fixed from one end side and has a reflective surface 12a formed on the inner surface, and a sealing resin 4 filled in the cylindrical part of this reflector. , a lid-diffusion lens 13 attached to the other end of the cylinder of the cylindrical reflector and bonded to the other end of the reflector with the sealing resin so that the sealing resin 4 is press-fitted; , characterized in that a cavity 20 is provided on at least one of the sealing surfaces of the diffuser lens and the reflector to prevent the sealing resin from overflowing when the diffuser lens is attached. do. Hereinafter, one example of a light emitting device will be described in detail with reference to the drawings. As shown in FIG. 4 in cross-section and in FIG. 6 in side view, this light-emitting element has an LED lamp 1 surrounded by a reflector 12, and a diffuser lens 3 which also serves as a cover body is adhesively sealed to this reflector. In this respect, it is the same as the conventional one shown in FIG. 2, so only the differences will be explained below. That is, the reflector 12 has its reflective surface 12a.
A part of the light emitted from the LED lamp is reflected and led out to the diffusion lens side, but as shown in the cross-sectional view in FIG. A groove 20, which is an example of a cavity, is provided. This groove may have any width, depth, etc., and its cross-sectional shape may be arbitrarily selected, such as rectangular, U-shaped, V-shaped, etc. In addition, even if the groove does not extend all the way around the circumference, even if the groove 20' is divided so that the sealing surface is shown in the front view in FIG. Groove 20'' may also be used to show the surface in front view.
0'' indicates one consisting of a shallow groove 20a'' and a partially deep groove 20b''.Next, the cavity of the sealing surface according to this invention may be provided in the reflector with all of the above-mentioned cavities. FIG. 9 shows an example in which a V-shaped groove 20'' is provided on the sealing surface of the reflector. Furthermore, the cavity 30 shown in cross section in FIG. 10 is provided in a chamfered manner on the protruding edge of the sealing surface of the reflector 12, and is intended to prevent the sealing resin from flowing.

This idea provides a cavity to prevent resin from flowing out on the sealing surface, absorbing the overflowing resin, and also prevents resin from sticking by blocking the resin from flowing out due to the surface tension of the resin, which improves the appearance of the light emitting element. It has significant advantages such as strong sealing.
