Abstract

PURPOSE:To mount a lead wire onto the surface at a prescribed location by prolonging the outer tip of the lead wire in the lateral direction. CONSTITUTION:The hermetic seal member consists of a glass layer 1, a lead wire 2 penetrating therethrough and a shell 3 adhered to the upper part of the glass layer 1. After the lead wire 2 is folded downward through the glass layer 1 laterally from a storage chamber 4 storing a crystal and an IC substrate or the like, or after through the glass layer downward, the lead wire 2 is prolonged in the outer lateral direction. The prolonged part in the lateral direction is utilized to apply connection to a prescribed connection part with cream solder to attain the surface mounting.
