In order to enhance the design effect of ceilings and walls, there is a treatment method that emphasizes the unevenness by placing a large number of wooden blocks on these surfaces, but in order to obtain these wooden blocks, it is necessary to cut the wood directly from precious natural wood. To avoid economy, we have traditionally used wood veneer obtained by slicing natural precious wood on the surface of block base materials made of low-grade wood materials, chipboard, insulation board, or inorganic materials such as calcium silicate. The method used is to heat and press the adhesive with a metal mold to cover it.

In the above method, the excess portion of the wood veneer that inevitably occurs when a flat wood veneer is covered with a three-dimensional block base material is subjected to the shrinkage effect of the wood veneer due to the heat pressing described above. However, in reality, as shown in Figure 1, the shrinkage is insufficient at the side ridges of the block. Therefore, an excess portion 1a inevitably occurs in the wooden veneer 1, and the wooden veneer 1 overlaps in that portion, which not only causes tearing but also has problems such as an unsightly appearance.

Therefore, an object of the present invention is to provide a method for producing a decorative wooden block in which no overlapping portions are formed in the covered wooden veneer at the side ridges of the decorative wooden block.

An embodiment of this invention will be described below based on FIG. In other words, the method for manufacturing this wooden decorative block is to make a trapezoidal block, as shown in Figure 2A, by using hardboard, low-grade wood, etc. as the material, and chamfering the top surface so that it is rectangular and the side inclination angle to be approximately 45 degrees. After molding the block base material 2 and applying a thermosetting adhesive having a mixing ratio of 60% vinyl acetate resin adhesive and 40% urea resin adhesive to its surface, teak and rosewood are applied as shown in Figure B. A wooden veneer 1 obtained by slicing from a natural precious wood such as pine wood is cut into a flat plate shape large enough to sufficiently cover the surface of the trapezoidal block base material 2, and then the side edges of the block as shown in Fig. 3 are cut. The surface of the trapezoidal block is coated by high-frequency heating and pressing in the following order using a wooden mold 3 that heats and presses the top surface of the block and a wooden mold 4 that simultaneously heats and presses the top surface and each side of the block. be.

Each of the wooden molds 3 and 4 has an electrode board connected to a high-frequency power source 5 on the inner surface, which is in direct contact with the wooden veneer 1 to be heated, and the outer surface is covered with a cushioning material. The wooden mold 3 that presses the side ridges has a mountain-shaped cross section and a pressing flat part 3a on the back side.
The wooden mold 4 for pressing the top surface and each side surface of the block has a notch 4a at each side ridge of the box that is in close contact with the surface of the trapezoidal block base material. .

When coating the trapezoidal block base material 2 with the wood veneer 1 by heating and pressing, in order to increase the heat shrinkage effect of the wood veneer 1, the moisture content of the wood veneer 1 is adjusted in advance to 15 to 30%. Adjust accordingly.

In this way, the trapezoid block base material 2 of the wood veneer 1
In the heat pressing process, the side ridges where overlapping parts of the wood veneer 1 tend to occur were first pressed, and then the other top and side surfaces were pressed. A wooden decorative block with an elegant appearance and no cracking can be obtained without exhibiting an insufficient covering state such as when the veneer 1 is wrinkled and overlapping parts occur.

In the above embodiment, the case where the wooden veneer 1 is coated on the trapezoidal block base material 2 has been described, but when covering not only the trapezoidal shape but also the general polyhedral or curved shape, first the side surfaces, then the top surface, etc. The same effect can be obtained as long as the processing order is such that the other flat portions are heat-pressed.

As described above, in the method for manufacturing a wooden decorative block of the present invention, the side ridges of the block base material are heated and pressed first, and the other top and side faces are then heat-pressed, so that the surface of the block base material is In the process of heat-pressing bonding of wood veneers to the wood veneer, the part of the wood veneer corresponding to the side surface of the block base material can be coated over the entire surface without creating an unfavorable covering condition such as overlapping at the side ridge. It has the effect that sufficient coating is carried out without sagging, and a decorative wood block with an elegant appearance can be obtained without polymerization or tearing on the coated surface.
