In order to enhance the design effect of ceilings and walls, there is a treatment method that emphasizes the unevenness by placing a large number of wooden blocks on these surfaces, but in order to obtain these wooden blocks, it is necessary to cut the wood directly from precious natural wood. To avoid economy, we have traditionally used wood veneer obtained by slicing natural precious wood on the surface of block base materials made of low-grade wood materials, chipboard, insulation board, or inorganic materials such as calcium silicate. , a method of coating by heating and pressing with a mold using an adhesive has been adopted.

In the above method, the excess portion of the wood veneer that inevitably occurs when a flat wood veneer is covered with a three-dimensional block base material is subjected to the shrinkage effect of the wood veneer due to the heat pressing described above. However, in reality, as shown in Figure 1, the shrinkage is insufficient at the side ridges of the block. Therefore, an excess portion 1a inevitably occurs in the wooden veneer 1, and the wooden veneer 1 overlaps in that portion, which not only causes tearing but also has problems such as an unsightly appearance.

Therefore, an object of the present invention is to provide a method for producing a decorative wooden block in which no overlapping portions are formed in the covered wooden veneer at the side ridges of the decorative wooden block.

One of the general properties of wood is anisotropy in shrinkage rate. In other words, the shrinkage rate of wood varies depending on the water content and specific gravity, but it also varies greatly depending on the direction, being maximum in the tangential direction T shown in Figure 2, and slightly smaller in the radial direction R.
It is very small in the fiber direction L. (The ratio of these is approximately 10:5:1 to 0.5.) Therefore, this invention focuses on the anisotropy of the shrinkage rate of wood and investigates the overlap of the wood veneers at the side ridges of the block. An example of this will be described below with reference to FIG. 2. In other words, the manufacturing method for this wooden decorative block is to use hardboard as the material, with a thickness of 7 mm, a width of 75 mm, and a length of 7 mm.
While molding a trapezoidal block base material 2 as shown in FIG.
Wood veneer obtained by slicing from teak logs 1
As shown in FIG. B, the trapezoidal block base material 2
Width: 100 mm, length: 190 mm so that the surface is sufficiently covered
A flat plate with a thickness of 0.25 mm is cut with the fiber direction L aligned to one side, and the back side of both sides in the tangential direction of this wood veneer, that is, the direction perpendicular to the fiber direction L, has heat shrinkability. A vinyl chloride resin film 3 (thickness: 200 μm) was attached with an adhesive; Aron Alpha (manufactured by Toagosei Kagaku Co., Ltd.), and this wood veneer 1 was coated with a mixture ratio of 60% vinyl acetate resin adhesive and 40% urea resin adhesive. As shown in Figure C, on the surface of the trapezoid block base material 2 coated with a thermosetting adhesive having It is pressed with a wooden mold 4 that is aligned on two sides, and at the same time is coated by high-frequency heating.

In addition to the vinyl chloride resin film 3, films made of polyethylene resin, polypropylene resin, etc. are suitable as the heat-shrinkable film.

Further, the adhesive applied to the surface of the trapezoidal block base material 2 is preferably a thermosetting adhesive that is compatible with the above-mentioned heat pressing, and a phenol resin adhesive may be used in addition to the above-mentioned adhesive.

The wooden veneer 1 is preferably made of natural wood such as rosewood in addition to the teak wood, and its thickness is preferably 0.2 to 0.5 mm in order to facilitate the heat pressing process.

Therefore, in the heat pressing process, the shrinkage tendency of the wood veneer, in which the shrinkage rate in the tangential direction perpendicular to the fiber direction L is larger (approximately 10 times) than in the fiber direction L, is reduced. The heat shrinkage of the vinyl chloride resin film 3 adhered to the back side of the block 1 causes the shrinkage of both sides perpendicular to the fiber direction L to be sufficient to leave no surplus, and the side edges of the trapezoidal block are It is possible to prevent the wood veneer 1 from being wrinkled and overlapped in the parts, resulting in a sore covering condition, and therefore, it is possible to create a wood decorative block that is free from cracks and has an elegant appearance. can.

In the above example, the case where a wooden veneer is coated on a trapezoidal block base material is explained, but it is possible to obtain almost the same effect not only in a trapezoidal shape but also in a general polyhedral or curved shape. , this effect is especially great when it forms a polygonal pyramid.

Furthermore, in the above embodiment, the fiber direction L of the wood veneer 1 was aligned in one side direction, but this is because this embodiment was designed to be suitable for a trapezoidal block having a rectangular top surface. However, there is no particular requirement for such a limitation. Therefore,
The part to which the heat shrink film is attached on the back side of the wood veneer does not necessarily have to correspond exactly to one side of the block base material, but the heat shrink film can be attached to two or more sides with the ridge in between. It may be covered so that the attached parts correspond to each other.

As described above, the method for manufacturing a decorative wooden block of the present invention involves attaching a heat-shrinkable film to the back side of the wood veneer perpendicular to the fiber direction, so that the wood veneer is applied to the surface of the block base material. During the heat-pressing adhesion process for veneers, the parts of the wood veneer that correspond to the side surfaces of the block base material shrink enough to prevent excess parts, resulting in an elegant appearance with no polymerization or tearing on the covered surface. This has the effect that it can be made into a wooden decorative block.
