Conventional wooden containers are made by drying raw wood for a long period of time and then hollowing it out to form the peripheral wall and the bottom integrally, or by forming the peripheral wall and the bottom separately.
It was manufactured by joining the bottom part to the peripheral wall part by nailing, gluing, etc. According to this manufacturing method, the hollowed out wood is wasted, resulting in a large loss of raw material, which, together with the rise in the price of raw wood due to the depletion of wood resources, has led to a rise in the price of wooden containers.

Moreover, logs not only require a long drying process, but also require skill in the hollowing process, making them unsuitable for mass production and having extremely poor productivity and workability.

The present invention has been made to improve the above-mentioned drawbacks, and provides a wooden container that can be easily formed into a deep-bottomed container from a single plate or a laminate, eliminates wasted materials, and can be mass-produced at low cost. The purpose of this invention is to provide a method for manufacturing.

First, a log of an appropriate size is cut into a veneer 1 with a thickness of 1 mm to 1.5 mm using a rotary cutter. A waterproof adhesive 2 such as melamine resin or phenolic resin is applied to this veneer 1 to form a laminate 3.

The veneer 1 may be processed around the veneer according to the shape of the opening of the desired container, and the material of the veneer 1 may include:
It is preferable to use high-quality wood such as cherry, cypress, and zelkova. Moreover, the laminated plate 3 may be a single plate 1 having an arbitrary thickness.

By steaming the laminate 3, the veneer 1 is made flexible without reducing the adhesive effect of the water-resistant adhesive, and cracks occur on the surface of the veneer 1 during bending. You can make your work easier without having to worry about it.

The thus produced laminate 3' is placed on molds 5, 5' having the shape of a desired container, and the laminate 3' is compression molded. The laminate 3', which has been softened by steaming through this compression, is molded to follow the shape of the mold, and the wooden container 6 is obtained.

As explained above, in the manufacturing method according to the present invention, the container is formed after boiling or steaming the veneer or laminate to soften it, so even in deep-bottomed containers, cracks can be avoided from the veneer or laminate to the surface of the board. It can be easily molded without forming, is economical with little loss of raw material, and can be mass-produced at low cost without any skill required.
