Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a inexpensively a phosphorus removing agent capable of utilizing effectively it as a phosphorus fertilizer by using carbonate of Mg as an essential material to manufacture the phosphorus removing agent or by using both carbonate of Mg as the essential material and Ca compd. as an aid to manufacture the phosphorus removing agent. CONSTITUTION:A phosphorus removing agent is manufactured by blending 0.05-5pts.wt. preferably 0.1-2pts.wt. Ca compd. such asl CaO and Ca(OH)2 as an aid for 100pts.wt. Mg of carbonate. As carbonate of Mg being the essential material, magnesite generated naturally or the like can be used. The carbonate of Mg can be used in the various shapes such as a finely-divided powdery shape and a granular shape. Water cong. phosphorus is brought into contact with the phosphorus removing agent to remove phosphorus dissolved in water by using the above-mentioned phosphorus removing agent.

The phosphorus removing agent of the present invention uses magnesium carbonate as a main ingredient. In the case of the present invention, naturally occurring minerals such as magnesite can be used as such carbonates, so the phosphorus removing agent of the present invention can be obtained at a very low cost. Such magnesium-containing carbonates can be used in various forms such as fine powder and granules, but the proportions are limited. This n tc;'76(z9'l

In order to remove phosphorus dissolved in water using the phosphorus removing agent of the present invention, water containing phosphorus may be brought into contact with the phosphorus removing agent of the present invention. In this case, methods for bringing the phosphorus removing agent into contact with the phosphorus-containing water include a method in which the phosphorus removing agent is introduced into the phosphorus-containing water, and a method in which the phosphorus-containing water is passed through a column filled with the phosphorus removing agent. When removing phosphorus by adding a phosphorus remover to phosphorus-containing water, the ratio of the phosphorus remover to the phosphorus-containing water is usually 0.1 to 10% by weight.
Preferably it is 0.5 to 5% by weight. The processing time is usually about 30 minutes to 3 hours.
