Traditionally, to manufacture instrument panels, semi-rigid skin materials such as polyvinyl chloride and ABC
When molding hard core materials such as resin between molds,
The space formed between the skin material and the core material is filled with a foamable resin such as polypropylene and heated to foam. According to such conventional means, there were problems in that it took a long time to foam, irritating gas was generated during foaming, and it was difficult to control temperature and humidity. A composite sheet in which material and a foam sheet are bonded together in advance is wound around a roll, etc. This composite sheet is cut into a predetermined length to make a unit sheet, and this unit sheet is guided to a heating station until it reaches a temperature close to its softening point. Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 54-144478 discloses an instrument panel manufacturing apparatus in which the unit sheet is heated to an elevated temperature, then guided to a molding station, and pressed between molds using a separately prepared core material and adhesive. Shown in No.

In the case of such manufacturing equipment, a loading station,
An endless conveyance chain is provided that circulates through the heating station and the forming station, and the sheet is pierced with a prick provided in the conveyance chain to convey the sheet sequentially through each station. For this reason, the sheet must be conveyed while maintaining the positional relationship for each station, which makes it impossible to operate independently, and there is a problem that the molding cycle must be determined according to the slowest station.
In addition, since the conveyance chain passes through a heating station, it must be constantly cooled, which affects durability.Furthermore, since the conveyance chain is located inside the forming station, the conveyance chain can reach the position where the sheet is held. There is a problem in that the molding method is restricted, such as having to move both the upper and lower molds for molding.

Then, the rail 14 and furthermore the cart 21 that is locked to the rail 14 are raised. and rail 14
When the height of the upper rail 46 of the heating device 3 becomes equal to the height of the upper rail 46 of the heating device 3, the ascent is stopped, the cylinder 16 is activated, and the rod 16a is caused to perform a projecting motion. Then, the engagement piece 16b at the tip of the rod 16a
Since the cart 21 is engaged with the engaging portion 31 of the heating device 3, the cart 21 runs on the rail 14 and touches the upper rail 46 of the heating device 3.
Then, heat treatment is performed for a predetermined period of time.
Note that after the carriage 21 is pushed into the heating device 3 by the cylinder 16, the engagement state between the engagement portion 31 and the engagement piece 16b is released.

After the heating device is finished, the forming device 4
The lifting cylinder 56 is operated to raise the auxiliary ram 59 so that the rail 61 provided on the auxiliary ram 59 and the upper rail 46 are at the same height, and the cylinder 62 is operated to cause the rod 62a to project. It is tanned so that the engaging piece 62b provided at the tip of the rod 62a fits into the groove 30a of the engaging part 30 formed on the horizontal member 22 of the truck 21. From this state, the cylinder 62 is operated to release the rod 62a.

As described above, the instrument panel manufacturing apparatus of the present invention does not have a conveyance chain that circulates through each station as in conventional equipment, but instead has a running rail at each station, and a trolley holding a sheet runs on this running rail. As a result, there is no need to maintain the positional relationship at each station when transporting sheets, and the transport chain does not pass through the heating device, improving durability. Since the sheet is not molded while being held, the molding position can be selected arbitrarily, so the molding method is not restricted, and the optimal working conditions can be selected for each station, which has many advantages. have
