Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the concentration of CO, HC and NOx and increase torque by supplying high-voltage pulses onto the inhaled air and the supplied fuel. CONSTITUTION:Negative high-voltage pulses are supplied onto a metal net 8 installed in front of the air taking-in port of a carburetor 9. While, positive high-voltage pulses are supplied onto a fuel hose 10 made of insulating material which is installed between the carburetor 9 from a fuel pump. The positive and negative high-voltage pulses can be generated at the same time in synchronization with an ignitor by a high-voltage generating coil 3. Therefore, the N2 and O2 in air are electrified into negative, and the combination of N2 is suppressed, and the combination of O2 is facilitated, and fuel is electrified into positive, facilitating the combination with oxygen.
