Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide an amino resin molding material giving moldings such as utensils for daily use and tablewares which give a feeling of lightweight while retaining cleanliness, by blending microballoon glass spheres with an amino resin. CONSTITUTION:10-30wt% (based on the entire quantity of the resulting mate rial) microballoon glass spheres and additives such as reinforcing agent (e.g. woodmeal), filler (e.g. calcium carbonate), hardener (e.g. hexame thylenetetramine), parting agent (e.g. stearic acid), colorant, etc., are blended with an amino resin such as area resin, melamine resin or guanamine resin. The mixture is kneaded, crushed and optionally granulated to obtain the desired amino resin molding material. Microballoon glass sphere having an average particle size of 1-100mu is preferred.

Conventionally, amino resin molding materials are often used for tableware, machine parts, toys, daily necessities, etc. However, these applications require light weight, and especially when handling a large amount of tableware, the tableware may settle at the bottom of the washing tank. There was also the problem of interference with cleaning operations.

The present invention is an amino resin molding material that is characterized by containing fine hollow glass spheres, so there is no increase in water absorption and blockage caused by fillers, and there is no decrease in stain resistance, so the molded product has a clean and lightweight feel. The present invention will be described in detail below.

Although the weight of the fine hollow glass spheres involved in the present invention is not particularly limited, it is preferably 1 to 500 microns. This is because if the area is less than 1 micron, the specific gravity of the molded product tends to be difficult to decrease, whereas if it exceeds 500 micron, the strength of the molded product tends to decrease and dents are likely to occur. Further, the content of the fine hollow glass spheres is preferably 10 to 30% by weight (hereinafter simply referred to as "regret") of the total amount.

That is, if lo is less than 4, the specific gravity of the molded product tends to be difficult to decrease, and if it exceeds 30, the appearance of the molded product tends to deteriorate and the strength tends to decrease. Amino resins can be applied to all amino resins, such as urea resin, melamine resin, guanamine resin, etc. alone, modified products, and mixtures, reinforcing materials such as pulp and wood flour, calcium carbonate, aluminum hydroxide, etc. Fillers, hardening agents such as hexamethylenetetramine and phthalic anhydride, mold release agents such as stearic acid, zinc stearate, and wax, coloring agents, and phenolic resins such as phenolic resins, cresol resins, and xylenol resins as modifiers. If necessary, the mixture may be blended, mixed, pulverized, and sieved to form a powdered molding material, or further granulated to form a granular molding material. Embodiments of the present invention will be described below together with conventional examples.

The formulation tables of Examples 1 to 3 and Comparative Example Table 1 are similar. First, pulp is added to the melamine resin liquid, kneaded for 6 hours in a kneader, and then phthalic anhydride and stearin are added to the dried resin-impregnated pulp product. After adding zinc acid and a coloring agent, mixing and pulverizing, fine hollow glass spheres having an average particle size of 50 microns were added and mixed to obtain an amino resin molding material.
