Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain high-quality images without turbidity by a method in which a manuscript having an image formed through a photo-thermal conversion material on the surface of its base material is put on an ink sheet having a thermal recording ink coated on the surface of its supporter and pressed, and infrared rays are irradiated to them to transfer only the ink on the ink sheet to an image receiving paper. CONSTITUTION:A manuscript 12, consisting of a base material 10 and a photo- thermal conversion material 11, is put on an ink sheet 15, consisting of a thermal recording ink 13 and a supporter 14, in such a way as to make the material 11 contact with the ink 13. Infrared rays 16 are irradiated to them, whereupon the ink 13 only in the portions touched by the material 11 is melted and adhered to the material 11 to form a blanked pattern in the sheet 15. The ink sheet 15 is then put in such a way as to make the ink 13 contact with the image receiving paper 17 and heated 18. The ink 13 can thus be exactly transferred to the paper 17 and clear image can be obtained.

An example of a conventional image forming method will be described below with reference to the drawings. FIG. 2 shows a conventional image forming force method. (For example, JP-A-56-121792)
. First, as shown in FIG. and toner 2 so that they are in contact with each other, press them, and infrared rays 7
When the toner 2 is irradiated with infrared rays 7, the toner 2 absorbs the infrared rays 7, generates heat, melts the thermofusible ink 5, and adsorbs the thermofusible ink 5. Next, in FIG. 2, the original 3 and the image receiving paper 8 are stacked so that the heat-fusible ink 5 to which the toner 2 has been adsorbed is in contact with the image-receiving paper 8, and when pressed and heat 9 is applied, the heat-fusible ink is The ink 5 is melted and transferred to the image receiving paper 8.

Problems to be Solved by the Invention However, with the above configuration, heat is applied to the original and the image-receiving paper together with the original in the transfer process of transferring the heat-meltable ink from the original to the image-receiving paper, so a part of the toner melts and the heat-melted ink is heated. Since it is transferred to the image receiving paper along with the color ink, it is not possible to produce a high quality image.

Means for Solving the Problems In order to solve the above problems, the image forming method of the present invention includes applying thermal recording ink to the surface of a document and a support on which an image is formed on the surface of a base material using a photothermal conversion material. stacking and pressing the ink sheets so that the photothermal conversion material and the thermosensitive recording ink are in close proximity or contact with each other, irradiating infrared rays, and adsorbing the thermosensitive recording ink to the photothermal conversion material;
Layer an image receiving paper close to or in contact with the thermal recording ink remaining on the ink sheet, press it, and apply heat;
The method comprises the step of transferring the thermal recording ink remaining on the ink sheet to the image receiving paper. Here, the term "thermal recording ink" refers to an ink that can be released from a support by heat and transferred to image-receiving paper. Further, the photothermal conversion material is a substance that absorbs infrared rays and generates heat.

Effect of the present invention With the above-described structure, the unnecessary thermal recording ink is adsorbed onto the photothermal conversion material, and the thermal recording ink remaining on the ink sheet is transferred to the image receiving paper, so that what is transferred to the image receiving paper is thermosensitive. Since only recording ink is used, high-quality images without turbidity can be obtained.
