Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain high-quality images by a method in which a manuscript having an image formed through a light shield on the surface of its base material is put on an ink sheet having a thermal recording ink coated on the surface of its supporter and pressed, and infrared rays are irradiated to the portions where the light shield is not present to transfer the ink adsorbed on the manuscript to an image receiving paper. CONSTITUTION:A manuscript 12, consisting of a base material 10 and a light shield 11, is put on an ink sheet 15, consisting of a thermal recording ink 14 and a supporter 13, in such a way as to make the material 11 contact with the ink 14. Infrared rays 16 are irradiated to the portions where the light shield 11 is not present, and the ink 14 is melted by absorbing the rays 16 and adhered to the material 10. The manuscript 12 is then superposed so as to contact the ink 14 with an image receiving paper 17 and heated 18 to transfer the ink 14 to the paper 17. By transferring the ink 14 to the paper 17 by heat 18, the transfer can be exactly made to obtain clear images.

An example of a conventional image forming method will be described below with reference to the drawings. FIG. 2 shows a conventional image forming method. (For example, JP-A-66-121792)
. First, in FIG. 2 B, a document 3 on which an image is formed with toner 2 on the surface of a base material 1 and an ink sheet 6 on which a heat-melting ink 6 is applied on the surface of a support 40 are mixed with heat-melting ink 5. Stack and press so that the toner 2 is in contact with the toner 2, and infrared ray 7
When the toner 2 is irradiated with infrared rays 7, the toner 2 absorbs the infrared rays 7, generates heat, melts the thermofusible ink 5, and adsorbs the thermofusible ink 5. Next, in FIG. 2, the original 3 and the image receiving paper 8 are stacked so that the heat-fusible ink 5 to which the toner 2 has been adsorbed is in contact with the image-receiving paper 8, and when pressed and heat 9 is applied, the heat-fusible ink is The ink 5 is melted and transferred to the image receiving paper 8.

Problems to be Solved by the Invention However, with the above configuration, since the material that forms the image on the original is a photothermal conversion material that absorbs infrared rays and generates heat, the efficiency of conversion from infrared rays to heat, such as black, is very high. The problem is that color originals cannot be used.

Means for Solving the Problems In order to solve the above-mentioned problems, the image forming method of the present invention includes a document having an image formed on the surface of the base material with a light-shielding material, and a heat-sensitive recording ink applied to the surface of the support. The ink sheets are stacked and pressed so that the light shielding material and the heat-sensitive recording ink are in close proximity to or in contact with each other, and infrared rays are irradiated from the particle base side to apply the heat-sensitive recording ink to the part of the manuscript where there is no light shielding material. This process consists of a step of adsorbing the thermal recording ink to the document, and a step of stacking an image-receiving paper close to or in contact with the thermal recording ink adsorbed to the original, and transferring the thermal recording ink adsorbed to the document onto the image-receiving paper. Here, the term "thermal recording ink" refers to an ink that can be released from a support by heat and transferred to image-receiving paper. Furthermore, the light shielding material is a substance that has low transmittance to infrared rays.

Effects of the present invention With the above-described structure, infrared rays are transmitted only in the areas where there is no light-shielding material, the thermal recording ink is transferred and adsorbed onto the original, and the thermal recording ink adsorbed on the original is transferred onto image receiving paper, thereby printing the original. High quality images can be obtained without using photothermal conversion materials.

Example 1 In the original 12, the base material 10 is plain paper, and the light shielding material 11 is made of white paint. The thermosensitive recording ink 14 is a heat-melting ink, and the support 13 is a polyester terephthalate film having a thickness of 12 μm. The heat-melting ink is: Paraffin wax 60% by weight Carnauba wax 20% by weight Lake Red 2
The ink sheet 15 was prepared by coating the ink sheet 9 with 0% by weight on the support 13. The original 12 and the ink sheet 15 are stacked so that the light shielding material 11 and the heat-sensitive recording ink 14 are in contact with each other, and a flash lamp (manufactured by Riso Italic Industries) is used.
When the base material 10 is placed in contact with the stand of the SOXENOFAX FX-180) and irradiated with infrared rays 16, the infrared rays are transmitted only in the areas where the light shielding material 11 is not present and are absorbed by the thermal recording ink 16. 14 is melted and the base material 1o
