Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 一一、１ノ・ 本発明は失調用インサート、更に詳しくは、失調患者が
使用する、通常の下着類に設＠するのに適したインサー
トに関する。

多くの人は、老齢あるいは病気のため、排泄物の自然排
出を制御または抑制覆ることがひきない。
流体排泄物に対し失調症の患者は通常、ブリーフなどの
形状の、ポケットを有する失調用衣類を利用している。
かかるボケッ１−に使い捨て水分吸収性パッドが挿入さ
れ、これは必要な時に交換す°ることができる。衣類は
それ自体、繰返して使用できるように選択できるのが通
常である。固体排泄物に対し失調症の患者は通常、体の
輪郭にフィッ１〜し、排出された固体排泄物を収容する
Ｊ３とな用に変形したおしめを利用しなければならない
。
両ケースにおいて、衣類またはおしめは成人の患者にと
って当惑の原因となると思われるが、それはかかる衣類
などを着用覆る際必然的に伴うスチグマのためである。
このため、かかる衣類の使用は失調患者ができるだ【ノ
普通の生活を送れるようにすることが意図されているが
、失調用衣類またはおしめの着用はそれ自体、患者が共
にわからあいたい活動をある程度に制限す゛るだろう。
加えて、除去しうるパッドおＪ：びおとな用おしめを受
け入れる両失調用衣類の場合、衣類またはおしめは患者
の体の輪郭に正確にフィン１〜することが必要である。
特に、衣類またはお【ノめは着用者のウコニス１へおに
びヒップのまわりにびっＩこりフィツトし、児ばえヤ機
能性が正当であることが必要である。従って、かかる衣
類やおしめは、各種寸法の患者に合う個々のサイズ、ま
たは弾性ベルト、スナップあるいは寸法調整接着性タブ
等により調整づることができ、患者に必要な適応性を可
能ならしめる単一サイズのいずれかで供給されている。
流体排泄を制御しえない患者が使用リ−るため作った失
調用衣類および固体排泄を制御しえない患者が使用する
ため設ｈｌされた他のタイプの失調用衣類があるが、快
適で交換容易な衣類は少ししかない。流体排泄物を吸収
する用途に設計された衣類は通常、高い水分吸収性を有
するが、固体排泄物を有効にカプセル化覆ることができ
ない。
即ち、本発明の第１の目的は、通常の下着類と共に使用
しうるように設計された失調用インサートを提供するこ
とである。
本発明の他の目的は、着用者の１本の輪郭に順応する寸
法に作る必要のない失調用イン４ノー１−を提供するこ
とである。
本発明の他の目的は、流体４１１泄物を吸収しおＪ、び
固体排泄物をカプセル化するのに非常に有効な失調用イ
ンサー１−を提供することぐある。
本発明の他の目的は、流体排泄物の吸収を可能ならしめ
るが、その後流体排泄物が着用者の方へ逆流するのを防
止し、これによって当該インサートが不快な濡れ感を帯
有覆るのを防止する一方向水分バリヤーを包含する失調
用インサ−−１・を提供することである。
本発明の他の目的は、標準製造法で作ることができる失
調用インサー１−を提供りることである。
本発明の更に他の目的は、確実に協同（幾能覆る比較的
安価な構成部品から成る失調用イン１ノー１〜を提供す
ることである。
免孔悲１１ζ１１ 本発明にＪ：れば、失調患者が使用りるインサートが提
供され、これは通常の下着類に設置覆るのに適したもの
である。かかるイン１ノー１−は患者の両脚に順応する
切欠き部を持つ実質上砂時泪の形状をした本体を包含す
る。本体は不粋水分浸透性物質の内層、水分不浸透性物
質の外層Ｊ５よび水分吸収１ｇコア物質の層からなる。
内層と外層は本体周辺に沿って接合して吸収性コア物質
層を包囲している。上記切欠き部と切欠き部の間に中心
部祠が位置し、これは内層と吸収性コア物Ｖ（層間に介
在している。−この中心部拐は、吸収１’ｌコア物質に
隣接する一方向水分バリヤ一層および該バリヤ一層と内
層間の水分浸透性吸上層からなる。バリＡ７一層は複数
の貫通孔を有する。このバリヤ一層の孔は、流体が内層
から吸収性物質へ移動するのを容易にする。また外層に
は接着手段が取付けらねてよく、これは当該インサート
を下着類に取外し可能に固定するのに適している。
一方向バリヤ一層は、゛超吸収性″ポリマーおよびペー
パー等の基体または担体のラミネートである。適当な商
業上入手しうる“超吸収性′°ポリマーどじては、スタ
ーチ類、アクリル系、変性セルロース、ゴム類等が包含
される。かかるポリマー物質をペーパー基体に塗布する
か、またはペーパ一層間にザンドイッヂしてラミネー１
〜を形成してもよい。″超吸収性パポリマーは、いった
ん濡れるとゲル化および膨張する。またバリヤ一層は幾
つかの孔を有し、これらはバリＡ７一層を貫通して広が
り、口つバリヤー′層の表面を横切って間隔をおいてい
る。かかる孔は、水分が水分浸透性内層からバリヤ一層
を通って水分吸収性コア物質へ浸入するのを容易にする
。ポリマーは濡れてゲル化すると、膨張し、これによっ
て孔の大きざを縮少し・、且つ水分がバリＡ７一層を道
通してコア物質から着用者の皮膚と接触する浸透性内層
へ移動するのを防止する。このように有孔層は一方向水
分バリヤーどして（幾能りることにより、吸収性コア物
質内の水分を保持しうるよう作用する。
接着手段は、イン１ナートの本体の両端付近に位置する
第１および第２接着性片を包含づる。これらの片は、イ
ンサートが王者類の中で心地よく固定されるのを可能な
らしめる。
次に、添付図面を参照して本発明をより詳しく説明する
。

本発明は失調用器具で、特に流体および固体排泄物の両
方を収容するため、通常の下着類と併用リ−るよう膜剤
された失調用インサートに係るものである。
添付図面で示されるように、本発明の失調用インサート
は実質上砂時計の形状をした本体を有し、該本体は流体
の通過を可能にするポリエステル繊維、ポリプロピレン
繊維もしくはレーヨン繊維またはこれらの類似物などの
不織水分浸透性布からなる砂時計形状の内１１０から形
成される。内層１゜は同形状の外層１２と付着して、イ
ンサートの残りの部分を包囲する。層１２は水分不浸透
性プラスチック物質（例えばポリエチレン、ポリプロピ
レン等）からなる。内層１０と外層１２０周辺（よ相互
に接着剤などで固着され、砂時計形状の内側凹部を形成
するようになっている。
この四部には水分吸収性コア物質の層１４が充填され、
該層も秒時８１形状を有するが、その寸法は内層１０ま
たは外層１２のそれよりも少し小さい。水分吸収性コア
物質は、毛羽立つＩζ木材パルプ（これが好ましい）、
ティッシ、Ｊ、詰綿、フオーム類、不織布、打綿等から
なる。
着用者の両脚に順応するよう設計された半円形の切欠き
部１６と１８の間に概して長方形の中心部４Ａ２０が位
置し、これはイン１−トの縦中心線に沿って、その一端
に近いポイントから他端に近いポイントまで延びている
。部材２０は一方向バリヤ一層２２および吸上層２４か
ら形成される。層２２および２４は水分吸収性コア物質
１４と内層１０の内面との間に位置し、層２２は水分吸
収性コア物質１４と隣接し、層２４は内層１０の内面と
隣接する。バリＶ一層２２は流体を物質１４内に保持−
するように機能覆る。
一方向バリヤ一層２２は平らな長方形の形を有し、厚み
が実質上均一である。バリヤ一層２２の“超吸収性゛ポ
リマー構成分は、濡れると、ゲル化および膨張゛づる。
即ら、この層は水分がその中を移行りるのをブロックす
る作用をする。バリヤ一層２２は、非遮断−（ｕｎｉｎ
ｔｅｒｒｕｐｔｅｄ　）ラミネートから形成されると、
該層を通過づる水分の量を徐々に制限し、最後には完全
にゲル化おにび膨張してから、いずれの水分も水分吸収
性物質１４に浸入するのを有効にブロックするだろう。
一方向バリヤ一層２２を通過しうる流体く即ち、尿）の
量を高める°には、バリヤ一層２２に多数の孔２６を設
ける。かかる孔の形状、大きさおよび数は、使用する個
々の“超吸収性″ポリマーのゲル化ｄ３よび膨張特性に
応じて変えることかできる。層２２が徐々に変化してゲ
ル化および膨張するにつれて、゛超吸収性″ポリマーの
ふくれは孔の大きさを実質的に縮少する。このように、
バリヤ一層における水分の通過は徐々に減少するが、孔
が無い場合よりはるかに徐々に減少覆る。
即ち、バリヤ一層２２は水分を吸収性コア物質内に保持
するよう作用するが、この作用は相当量の水分が該層を
通過して吸収性コア層１４へ進むのを可能ならしめ、し
かしその・後、相当量の水分のいずれもがバリ１７一層
２２および吸上層２４を通道して吸収性コア層１４から
、着用者へ通道づるのを防止することによる。この結果
、インサー１への−Ｌ面は濡れ感を帯有しないため、着
用者に対して心地にいものとなる。
一方向バリヤ一層２２は単一シート材、図示の如く孔２
６が整合するように配列した数シート（シート２２ａお
よび２２１）参照）、または孔２６が整合するように折
曲げまたは折畳んだ単一シー１−　Ｆあってよい。バリ
ヤ一層２２のりｒましい物質は、ＤＷＡＬ（ダウ・ケミ
カルの商品名）として公知のパ超吸収性″スターヂポリ
マーを含むラミネート、およびＱｅｌｏｋ　４０００’
（ゲロツク・インターナショナルの商品名）として公知
の゛超吸収性″変性アクリル系ポリマーを含むラミネー
１−である。
吸上層２４は水分浸透性物質、好ましくはティッシュペ
ーパーからなり、これは浸透性内層１ｏを通過する流体
（即ち、尿）を一方向パリ１ノ一層２２により均一に分
散さゼるよう機能リ−る。このように吸上層２４によっ
て確実に、バリヤ一層２２の“超吸収性″ポリマー成分
はゲル化し、層２２の全面に４つたってより均一に膨張
するであろう。
本発明のインサー１−は、通常の下着類の中に設置しう
るように設計されている。切欠き部１６おにび１８には
それぞれ内部弾性片２８．３０が設けられ、該片は切欠
き部１６および１８に沿って内層１ｏおよび外層１２の
切断面にしわを寄せる傾向にあり、これによってインサ
ートは着用者の両脚の内側のまわりにぴったりフィツト
するようになる。
外層１２の外面には、第３および４図に示す如く、イン
サートの本体部の縁に近い位置に接着性月３２゜３４が
設けられ、これによってインサートを下着類の内側に確
実に固定することができる。片３２．３４はインサーｉ
〜が下着類の中で移動するのを防止し、またその心地よ
ざを高める。
以上のことから、本発明のインサートは通常の下着類と
いっしょに使用づることができ、このため失調用衣類と
パッドの組合せの使用、またはＪ３とな用おしめの使用
の必要性を解潤し、そしてこれに伴うスチグマを除くこ
とが認められよう。加えて、当該インサートは１つのサ
イズで全てフィツトするので、着用者のヒップＪ３よび
ウェストにフィツトするため異なるサイズの衣類の必要
性を解消する。
本発明のインサートは比較的大きな表面積を有し、この
ため固体排泄物を有効にカプセル化することができる。
更に、インサーｉ〜の中心部には一方向水分バリヤーが
設けられており、水分吸収性物質が多量の流体を着用者
の皮膚に逆漏れさせることなく吸収することができ、こ
れによって不快な濡れ感を起さゼないようになっている
。
また本発明インサー］−の楊造は、多量の流体排泄物を
吸収するため該インサートを有効に使用することを可能
ならしめ、と同時に十分大きな表面積を有することから
固体排泄物を有効にカプセル化しうることが認められＪ
、う。このように両目的に単一のインサー１−を使用す
ることができる。
本発明に係る好ましい失調用イン゛す′−１〜は以下の
通りである。流体浸透性内層１０は、約０．２５〜２Ａ
ンス／平方Ｖ−ド、最も好ましくは約０゜５オンス／平
方ヤードの不織ポリエステルまたはレーヨン物質である
。流体不浸透性外層１２は、厚み約０．５〜３ミル、最
も好ましくは約１ミルのポリエチレンフィルムである。
吸上層２４は、厚み約１〜３ミル、最も好ましくは約２
ミルのティッシュ物質である。一方向バリヤー単層ま／
ｊは複層２２は十分な厚みを有し、且つ尿の重量の約３
０〜１００倍を吸収できる缶の゛超吸収性″ポリマーを
含んでいることが好ましい。孔２６は、水分と接触前の
バリヤー単層または複層２２の表面積の約１５〜３５％
、最も好ましくは約２５％を占めるように形成されてい
ることが好ましい。水分吸収性コア物質１４は、厚み約
０．１５〜１．５インチ、最も好ましくは約０．２５〜
０．５インチの毛羽立った水利バルブであることが好ま
しい。

  1. 【特許請求の範囲】 １、失調患者が使用する、通常の下着類に設置するのに
    適したインサートであって、患者の両脚に順応づ−る切
    欠き部を持つ実質上砂時計の形状をした本体と中心部月
    とから構成され、該本体は不織水分浸透性物質の内層、
    水分不浸透性物質の外層および水分吸収性コア物質の層
    からなり、該内層と外層は本体周辺に沿って接合して吸
    収性コア物質を包囲し：該中心部材は上記切欠き部と切
    欠き部の間に位置し且つ内層と吸収性コア物質層間に介
    在し、実質上均一厚みの一方面パリ１ノー居および該バ
    リＡ２一層と上記内層の間に位置づる水分浸透性吸上層
    からなり；該バリヤ一層は濡れると膨張するポリマーを
    含むラミネートからなり且つ複数の貫通孔を有し；核化
    はポリマーの膨張前に一定の直径を有して、流体がバリ
    ヤ一層を介し吸収性コア物質へ通過するのを容易にして
    おり、その孔の直径はポリマーの膨張に応じて減少し、
    流体がバリヤ一層を道通して浸透性内層へ通過りるのを
    制限づるようになっていることを特徴とする失調用イン
    ナート。 ２、外層に取付けられ、且つ当該インサー１−を下着類
    に取外し可能に固定するのに適した接着手段を更に包含
    する前記第１項記載のインサー１へ。 ３゜バリヤ一層が複数の有孔シー１−で、核化は実質上
    整合しており、シートのそれぞれは実質上均一な厚みを
    有し、且つ基体または担体および濡れると膨張づるポリ
    マーのラミネートからなる前記第１項記載のインサー１

    って接合して吸収性コア物質を包囲し；該中心部祠は上
    記切欠き部と切欠き部の間に位置し且つ内層と吸収性物
    質層間に介在し、実質上均一厚みの一方面バリヤ一層お
    よび該バリ（７一層と上記内層の間に位置するティッシ
    ュ物質の水分浸透性吸上層からなり：該バリＡ７一層は
    濡れると膨張するポリマーを含むラミネー１〜からなり
    、且つ複数の貫通孔を有し：該孔はポリマーの膨張前に
    一定の直径を有して、流体がバリＡ７一層を介し吸収性
    コア物質へ通過するのを容易にしており、その孔の直径
    はポリマーの膨張に応じて減少し、流体がバリ曳７一層
    を通過して浸透性内層へ通過するのを制限するようにな
    っていることを特徴と゛リ−る失調用インサート。 １２、外層に取付けられ、且つ当該インサー１−を下着
