Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 本発明は蓄電池に関するものであり、該蓄電池が急速充
放電による発熱で温度が上昇した際、その許容最高温度
以上になるのを阻止し、もって蓄電池が損−するのを防
止することを目的とするものであり、端子内に穿った空
洞内に、その許容最高温度より若干低い温度で相変化し
、かつ大きな変相潜熱を有する物質を充填することを特
徴とするものである。
以下、本発明をその一実施例を示す第1図により詳細に
説明する。該図面において1は電槽母種、2は電槽母種
1を覆蓋する電槽蓋である。電槽母種1内には陽・陰極
板およびセパレータからなる極群6が電解液4に浸漬さ
れて収納されている。
また5は極板間を接続するストラップ6より延び、電槽
蓋2を貫通して電槽外に突出する端子であり、該端子5
およびストラップ6内には空洞7が穿たれており、該空
洞7内には蓄電池の許容最高温度より若干低い温度で相
変化し、かつ大きな変相潜熱を有する物質が充填されて
いる。こうした物質の例およびその融点、変相潜熱を第
1表に示す。
第  1  表 本発明は以上のごとき構成であるので、蓄電池が急速充
放電などにより過熱した場合、その許容最高温度より若
干低い温度にて空洞内の物質が変相し、その際多くの熱
を奪うので、蓄電池はそれ以上の温度にならず、よって
蓄電池がその許容最高温度を越えることはなく、熱によ
り損傷を受けることもない。
なお本発明をその一実施例についてのみ説明したが、本
発明はこれに限定されることなく、その主旨を逸脱しな
い範囲で様々な実施態様が考えられる。例えば端子に放
熱フィンを配することにより、蓄電池の冷却をより早く
することが可能である。さらに該放熱フィンの端子への
取り付けをビスなどを用いて行なうことができる。
畝上、本発明はその工業的価値の高いものである。
