Abstract

PURPOSE:To simplify construction of a retaining wall even if it is high, by a method wherein a side wall is formed in an erecting manner at one side of a horizontal foundation part to form it in an L-shaped configuration, a male locking member is formed on the upper end of the side wall, and a female locking member is formed in the lower end surface of the side wall of the horizontal foundation part. CONSTITUTION:A side wall 3 having a sweep hole 6 is formed in an erecting state at one side of a horizontal foundation part 2 to form it in an L-shaped configuration, while a male locking member 4 is formed on the upper end of the side wall 3, and a female locking member 5 formed in the lower end surface of the other wall of the horizontal foundation part 2. The construction of a retaining wall is such that a pit is excavated in a ground 7, rubbles 8 are placed and levelled, and after levelling concrete is placed thereon, a block 1 group of a first layer is placed in a chain. After a back-filing 10 is conducted on the inner surface of the retaining wall 3, the pit excavation is refilled, and a first refilled layer 11 is formed by compacting with a roller to the same level as the upper end of retaining members 4. Further, a block 1' of a second layer is piled on the block 1 group to form a second refilled layer 11' in a similar method as described in the first layer. A block 1' group of a third layer and the following block groups are formed in a similar manner to construct a retaining wall A with a required height having an inclining slope.

As explained above, the prefabricated retaining wall block of the present invention has a side wall erected on one side of the horizontal base part to form an L-shaped cross section, and a locking member at the upper end of the side wall. Alternatively, a locking receiving member is provided, and a locking receiving member or a locking member corresponding to the locking member or locking receiving member is provided on the lower surface of the side wall side of the horizontal base portion, or a pile is provided through the horizontal base portion. Since it has an extremely simple structure with holes, its shape and size can be freely changed, and lightweight blocks can be manufactured at low cost.
