Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 本発明はインク噴射ヘッド、と如わけ、記録用のインク
滴を形成するのに適用されるインク嬢射ヘッドに関する
一般に、インクと呼ぶ記録液を各種の方式(飼えば、静
電吸引力を利用する方式や圧電素子の機械的振動を利用
する方式等が知られているー )によって微細な吐出孔
から噴出させて小滴化し、この小滴を紙等の被記録面に
付着させて記録を行なう所蘭、インクジェット記録方式
に於ては、と多わけ、印字品位を向上させる目的から被
記録面に打ち込まれるインクドラ)011fを高めるこ
と(つtシ、ドツトが連続している方が印字品位は良好
である。)が重賛な課題である。
しかしながら、従来に於ては、製造技術上の制約から、
高書度インクドツトを形成し得るインク噴射ヘッドを得
ることは極めてmstことであう九。
本発明は、斯かる従来技術0@決し得なかり主 九課題を解決すること(目的とする。換言すれば、本発
明の主たる目的は、^密度インクドツトを安定して形成
し得ると共に、落蓋でコンパクトに構成されるインク噴
射ヘッドを提供することにある。
斯かる目的を達成する本発明Oインタ噴射ヘッドは、イ
ンク吐出圧発生素子管備ええインク通路01つに対し、
近接した2以上のインク吐出孔を配設して成る仁とを特
徴にしている。
以下、図面を用いて本発明の実施飼を詳1IllK説明
する。
第1図(旬、 (b) 、 (e)によって本発明の一
実一鉤を示す7゜ 扇1図(、&)U、−実施ガとしてのインク噴射ヘッド
の外観斜視図であシ、第1図(b) 、 (e)は共に
、第1図taノのX、X線に於ける切断面図である。
図に於て、lはガラス、セラミックス、プラレゝ り吐出圧発生索子2が所望の個数〔・・・第1図(b)
に於ては1−1第1図(e)に於ては2個の場合をガ示
しであるJ配設しである。因に、前記インクロ土出圧発
生索子2として発熱素子が用いられるときは、とops
子が、近傍のインクを加熱することにより、インク吐出
エネルギーとしてのインク吐出圧を発生させる。又圧電
素子が用いられるときは、この素子の機械的変位によ〜
てインク吐出圧を発生させる。尚、これ等の素子2には
、図示されていない信号入力用電極が接続しである。こ
の場合O飯絖方法としては近年半導体工業でもちいられ
ているs lO* + 8 i、Na +ポリイミド等
の電気絶縁膜とム1.ムu14o導電属を交互KM層し
ていく過程に於いて導電膜をフォトリングラフィによっ
て所望の配線パターンにして構成する多鳩配線技術勢を
利用することができる。
そして、3/I′i基板1と同様の素材から成るスペー
サーであり、このスペーサ−30中央部をくシ抜くこと
によって素子2の上方にインク室4が形成され、このイ
ンクドツトには基板10一部に設叶え不図示の貫通孔を
通してインク導管5よりインクが供給される@になって
いる。
尚、前記導管5をスベー?−3の一部にII*させるこ
ともできる。又、導管5の設置個数も図示例(1個)の
みに限定されない。6は、その厚さ方向に貫通し九イン
ク吐出孔7m、7に+を設は九平板であシ、これも前記
基板1と同様の素材から成るものである。そして前記し
たインク吐出孔7m、Tbttii!ii加工技*0許
す@夛近接させて配設することがで龜、そom*も図示
例に限定されるものではなく、(一つのインク室4に対
して)3以上、飼えば3個〜5個寝度、互、に近接して
配設することも可能である。
又、これに加えて、インク吐出孔毎に索子2を対応させ
る様に変形することも可能である。
つまり、第1図(C)と同様に、一つのインク室4内に
、インク吐出孔と同じ個数のへに分騙し九素子2を配設
することも可能でめる。
以上の橡に構成されたインク噴射ヘッドを不図下の記録
紙面にインク吐出孔7m 、7bを接近させて対面させ
、そのX、X線と略直交する方向に走査しながら索子2
を作動させると、近接した複数の吐出孔7a 、7bか
ら夫々インクが噴出して、吐出孔7m、7bの配設ピッ
チとl′thソ同じピッチで不図示の記録紙面にインク
ドツトを形成する。そして、インク吐出孔7aと7bと
が極近接している為、記録紙面でのインクドツト同志は
互に一部で重なシ合うので、不図示の記録紙面に於ては
、従来のインク噴射ヘッドを用い九場合と異なシ、特に
縦方向に於て不連続−ではなく、連続線による印字を視
覚することが、できるものである、。
次に、第2図(a)、(4)、 (c) Kよつて、別
O実施飼を説明する。
第2−(畠)は、別の実m鍔としてのインク噴射ヘッド
の外観斜視図であシ、第2図1) 、 (@)は共に、
第2図(aL)OY、Y’!!に於ける切断面図である
図に於て、11は111国の基板lに、1意は111図
のインク吐出圧発生素子2に、1mは第1図のスベーナ
−3に、14−a、14に、14c、144は何れも第
1wJのインク*4に、15は第1図の導管5に、16
はM1図の平板6に、又、i7’ +171.17@、
1741,17・、17f、17g、17には何れも菖
11Iのインク吐出孔に夫々相幽する構成要素であ〕、
各々の詳細は菖1図に就いて説明されて%/%ゐとおり
である。
尚、こO絽2図々示NK於ても、第1図々示ガと同様に
、各インク吐出孔17a、・・・、17kFi、黴−加
工技術の許す@シ近接させて図示O如く直線収着しく抹
不図示のジグザグ状に配設することができ、その個数も
図示例に@定置れるもので紘亀く、(一つOインク室に
対して)1m上、鉤えは3個〜5個根度、¥近接して配
設することもOr総である。
又、これに加えて、第1図々示飼と同様にインク吐出孔
毎に分離され九木子12を対応させる禄に変形すること
も可能である。つtシ、第2図(C)と同様に、一つの
インク室例え[14&内に、インク吐出孔と同じ個数の
互、に分離し九素子12を配設することも1」能である
以上の様に構成されたインク噴射ヘッドを不図示の配t
i11に紙鈎にインク吐出孔17m、・・・、 17k
を接近させて対向させそのY 、 Y’縁と略直交する
方向に走査しながら索子12を作動させると(ゝ 互。K近畿し丸吐出孔17a、・・・、 17kから夫
々、インクが噴出して、吐出孔の配役ピッチとはソ四じ
ピッチで不図示の記録紙面にインクドツトを形成する。
そして、各インク吐出孔が極近接している為、記録紙面
でのインクドツト同志は(ゝ 互声一部で電な9合うので、不図示の記録紙面に於ては
、従来のインク噴射ヘッドを用い九場く 合と異なり、%に縦方向に於て不連続線ではない連続−
による印字を視覚することができるもむである。
又、第2図々示例の様な長尺ヘプト、飼えばA4サイズ
の記録紙の縦方向の長さとtt ’x等長のインク吐出
孔列を備えた長尺ヘッドを用いる場合には、走査回数が
1回で済むので、第1図々示飼のヘッドを用いる場合に
較べて印字P9T*時間をかなシ短縮することができる
因に、第1図(e)又は第21ffl(C)に於て岡示
された互に分離され九複数個のインク吐出圧発生素子2
,12を作動させる方式としては、同時又は順次の何れ
の作動方式を採用しても良10以上の実施例によって説
明したとおシ、本発明によれば、 1、特に印字の縦方向に於て高91度に集積される4ン
クドツトが形成できる為、従来にない良品位の印字を得
ることが可能である。
λ 又、インク吐出孔がインク吐出圧発生素子に極近接
して高密度に配列されている為、薄wKしてコンパクト
に構成できる。
3、シかも、インク吐出孔の一密度、微細加工は比獣的
谷易なことであるから、ヘッド自体の製造t−谷易且り
歩留9良く行えことができる。等の幼果が得られる。

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. インク吐出圧発生素子を備えたインク通路の1つに対し
    、近接した2以上のインク吐出孔を配設して成ることを
    特徴とするインク噴射ヘッド。
