Abstract
PURPOSE: To effectively crush scum and to raise efficiency, by dividing the main body of a vat into an upper chamber and a lower chamber, bending the lower parts of a transfer pipe provided with an opening including a nonreturn valve and a crude material-charge pipe into a U-shape, and opening these pipes near the top of the lower chamber.
CONSTITUTION: A crude material, to be fermented, charged into a crude material-charge pipe 7 falls downwards inside the pipe 7 through its U-shaped bottom and its opening part 7a to the interior of a lower chamber 4, and crushes scum on the surface of fermented liquid 11. The reserved fermented liquid 11 generates methane gas which is accumulated at the upper part of the lower chamber 4 to push away a proper amount of the fermented liquid. The pushes liquid 11 reaches the interior of an upper chamber 3 through a transfer pipe 8. Thereafter, the methane gas accumulated at the upper part of the lower chamber 4 is taken out through an extraction pipe 5, so that the gaseous pressure is lowered and that the fermented liquid 11 flows through the transfer pipe 8 and falls onto the surface of the fermented liquid 11 in the lower chamber 4 from the opening part 8a of the pipe 8. Consequently, due to the impact of the falling liquid 11, the scum on the surface of the liquid 11 is crushed and the liquid 11 is agitated.
