Abstract
PURPOSE:To provide a dephosphorizing agent for molten metal of superior dephosphorization performance and easy slag formation by mixing specific calcium ferrite and magnesium fluoride. CONSTITUTION:A mixture consisting in mixing 80-95wt% powder of calcium ferrite (2CaO.Fe2O3) consisting of 50-60wt% CaO and 50-40wt% Fe2O3 with 20-5wt% powder of MgF2 or this mixture which is sintered and pulverized to fine power having <=1mm. grain sizes is used as a dephosphorizing agent for molten iron. This dephosphorizing agent for molten iron of low melting temp. is easy to form slag and has superior dephosphorization performance.
