Abstract

PURPOSE:To make highly reliable and accurate temperature control of a rolled stock by detecting temperature of a rolled stock at inlet side and outlet side of a reversible rolling mill and controlling cooling flow rate of outlet side cooling device basing on the temperature gradient and rolling condition. CONSTITUTION:Thermometers 3, 3A are installed at outlet side and inlet side of a hot reversible rolling 1 and temperature gradient of front and rear ends of a rolled stock 2 is measured. Signals of the temperature gradient, rolling speed detected by a rolling speed meter 1A, thickness of rolled stock and material quality are inputted to an arithmetic device 4, and cooling flow rate of an outlet side cooling device 6 is adjusted by a cooling controlling device 5. By this way, temperature of the whole rolled stock 2 including the front and rear ends can be controlled at a target temperature.
