Abstract

NEW MATERIAL:An acyl derivative shown by the formula I (A is neocarzinostatin residue or puleneocarzinostatin residue; R is saturated or unsaturated acyl; n is 1 or 2).
EXAMPLE: Monomyristoyl-neocarzinostatin.
USE: A carcinostatic agent or its synthetic intermediate. Neocarzinostatin is acylated, so that the toxicity is characteristically reduced without damaging its carcinostatic effects.
PROCESS: For example, a neocarzinostatin or puleneocarzinostatin shown by the formula II is reacted with a carboxylic acid shown by the formula III or its reactive derivative, to give a compound shown by the formula I. The reaction is carried out in a solvent, e.g., water, acetone, etc., and, if necessary, in the presence of a condensation agent.
