Abstract

PURPOSE:To switch stereo reception and monaural reception without producing noise, in an automatic blending circuit which switches stereo reception state and monaural reception state depending on the change in an input electric field strength of FM broadcast waves. CONSTITUTION:FM broadcast waves inputted from an antenna 1 is processed at a front end 2, then applied to a stereo demodulator 5 via an intermediate amplifying state 3 and a detection stage 4, and stereo signals are respectively separated into left and right signals and applied to amplifiers 10, 11. A DC voltage in response to the electric field strength of an input signal is obtained by applying the output of the stage 3 to a smoothing circuit 6. This DC voltage is applied to a level detector 7 to obtain a stereo/monaural switching signal. This switching signal is applied to a control circuit 9 via a time constant circuit 8 and the switching is made gradually, allowing to avoid noise at switching.
