Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent vibration, noise and smoke due to over-throttling of intake from generating by providing a negative pressure change-over valve controlling an intake negative pressure of throttle condition under a predertermined degree for a diesel engine having an intake throttle means in a low load region such as idling etc.
CONSTITUTION: Pushing in an accelerator pedal 3 beyond a low load region, a switch 29 is made OFF closing a solenoid valve 26, negative pressure is not applied to a diaphragm chamber 12 of an actuator 10, and a throttle valve 7 is kept at a full-open condition through a spring 13. When the pedal 3 is at the condition of low load and the switch 29 is made ON, the solenoid valve 26 opens, vacuum pressure in a vacuum pump 24 is applied to the diaphragm chamber 12, and a diaphragm 11 is pulled into the chamber against the spring 13, closing the throttle valve 7 fully. When the negative pressure of an intake manifold is made beyond the fixed degree and the negative pressure is applied to a diaphragm chamber 19 of a change-over valve 14, a diaphragm 18 backs against a spring 20, a port 17 opens, the atmosphere is applied to a communication passage 15 and the chamber 12, the throlle valve 7 moves from the full- closed condition to the condition according to the vacuum pressure. Consequently the intake air volume is increased and the intake manifold negative pressure does not increase beyond the predetermined degree.
