Abstract

PURPOSE: To automatically cut and remove a flaw in a strand without causing the necessity for decreasing drawing speed, by detecting a position of the flow in the strand and controlling operation of a tool driving gear.
CONSTITUTION: Longitudinally movable cutting tools 10A, 10B, 10C are provided at an interval of about 120° further in a space apart longitudinally of a work (strand) 2, in a winding process of the stand 2 to a reel machine 100, the position of a flaw circumferentially and longitudinally of the strand 2 is detected by a flaw detector 3 simultaneously running speed is detected by a speedometer 4.
