Abstract
PURPOSE:To operate a cutting work always with a constant cutting power, with a surveillance made for a change of the work condition, by means of controlling a cutting condition so as to meet actively a change of the work condition obtained from a result of this surveillance. CONSTITUTION:In a numerically controlled lathe 100, for supervising a change of the work condition, or for supervising a status in each part of the machine, are provided sensors of every kind, for instance, main component force sensor 121, thrust sensor 122, X-axis contact sensor 124, Z-axis contact sensor 126. Outputs from each kind of sensor are inputted to an intelligence controller 147, with this output inputted to a numerical control device 146, and operations are made for a control of feed speed of the tool, a correction of position of the tool, a replacement of the tool and a measurement or a discard of the work completion material.
