Abstract
PURPOSE:To provide an adequate heat control capable of supplying heat in such a way a securing good workmanship of machining and satisfying the requirements on the quality of machined surfaces, by controlling the heating conditions in response to any change of machining condition especially the change of machining speed, in case of heating/machining process for any material showing hardness to be machined. CONSTITUTION:DC voltage from a power supply 4 is applied to a plasma torch 3 installed just ahead of cutting tool 2, to produce a plasma arc between the torch 3 and a material 1 to be machined, in order to heat the said material 1. Then, any change machining speed, change of feeding transfer and cutting distance etc. during machining process are continuously sensed by a detector 8 and after these signals are magnified through an amplifier 9, the control amount shall be found out from the difference of these values from those of heating conditions initially set in a controller 10. The initially set heating conditions are set in an input unit 12, and those data required for making control in compliance with the predetermined control process such as heat supply quantity control etc. is read out from a memory unit 11 and inputted in said controller 10. Thus, the quality of machined surface can be excellent and acceptable.
