Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a highly reliable display device by forming a P-N junction, physically treating the contact surfaces of the interwoven fiber-shaped P type and N type semiconductors. CONSTITUTION:Fiber-shaped semiconductors or conductive wires covered with conductors 5, 5', 6, 6' are interwoven. The vertical lines 5, 5' are P types and the horizontal lines 6, 6' are N types. After they are woven, a heat treatment at 200-1,000 deg.C or the potential applied between the line 5 and 6, forms P-N junctions at the contact surfaces. Irradiation of laser beam or supersonic wave is also effective. The integrated construction of light emitter and wiring makes possible low production cost and mass production of the device with a high reliability and a high resolution. The quality of picture can be freely altered by changing the rows and distance of the fibers.
