Abstract
PURPOSE: To facilitate adjustment of temperature in an exhaust gas capturing method for a paint drying furnace including a deodorizing means, by making the amount of air introduced into the furnace equal to that of gas delivered to the deodorizing means, and thereby eliminating transfer of gas between the inside and the outside of the furnace at its inlet and outlet ports.
CONSTITUTION: In operation, a burner 6 and a hot-air circulating fan 5 are at first set into operation for controlling the temperature in a furnace 1 to a required value. Then, works 11 to be dried are carried on a conveyor 12 into the furnace 1 for drying the works 11 in the furnace 1 exhaust gas produced in the furnace 1 is carried via an exhaust-gas capturing duct 17 to a deodorizing means 2 by means of a capturing fan 16. After heating the exhaust gas in a heat exchanger 13 and a burner 14 successively, it is deodorized in a catalyst bed 15 by way of oxidation. Here, at the time when the furnace 1 is operated at a low combustion rate, automatic dampers 18, 18' in ducts 19, 19' are both opened since the amount of combustion air introduced into the furnace is small. On the other hand, at the time when the furnace is operated at a high combustion rate, only the damper 18 is opened to render the amount of combustion air introduced from a duct 4 into the furnace 1 equal to that of exhaust gas carried to the deodorizing means 2 via the duct 17.
