Abstract
PURPOSE: To increase the thermal efficiency of a tea leaf dryer, by a method wherein the water content in the blast of hot air is adjusted to the optimum to a rough or a finished tea leaf, by mixing a part of exhaust combustion gas with the blast of hot air.
CONSTITUTION: A number of vent pipe 17 are inserted into a furnace 14, to one side of which a gas burner 15 is connected, and a chimney 16 to the other side. The reserved chamber 18 is arranged interconnectingly to the side of an inlet of vent pipe 17, and the air coming from an intake 21 is blown into the vent pipes 17. The air is sucked by a hot air blower 10 from a blast- collecting chamber 19 which is arranged to the side of an outlet, and the blast of hot air is fed into a drying chamber. The chimney 16 is interconnected to the adjacent part of an intake 21 of a reserved chamber 18 by a return pipe 20. A part of exhaust combustion gas is returned to a reserved chamber 18, and is mixed with the air, and then, is fed into vent pipes 17. In this equipment, the fresh air is sucked into a reserved chamber 18 from an intake 21, and is exhausted out of the equipment after it is fed into a drying chamber 1, passing through vent pipes 17 and a hot air blower 10. In this condition, the air, now becoming a hot air, is fed into a drying chamber 1, when a gas burner 15 is ignited. Accordingly, a hot air which is the optimum condition to rough tea leaf can be fed, by mixing a part of exhaust combustion gas with the blast of the hot air.
