Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve a display quality, by injecting a liquid crystal composite, and after that, applying sufficiently an electric field or a magnetic field from the outside of a liquid crystal panel, and executing a nematic transition of the liquid crystal composite. CONSTITUTION:When voltage is applied between external electrodes 10, liquid crystal molecules 13 and color element molecules 15 on the whole surface of a liquid crystal panel are oriented homeotropically, and the display state becomes transparent and weak in optical absorption by a color element. Subsequently, when voltage is set to ''0'', the liquid crystal molecules take a focal conic structure, absorption of light by color element molecules increases and they become white. This focal conic structure becomes a finer fingerprint-like pattern than its initial state. In this way, it is possible to get rid of the unequal display of a transparent electrode area and a background area in case when the electric power supply is off.
