Abstract

PURPOSE:To simplify various equipments and to increase the hot dipping adhesion in the manufacture of a hot-dipped high-tensile steel plate, by preventing the formation of an oxide film on a steel plate due to heat treatment by plating and by making a hydrogen atmosphere for the heat treatment inexplosive. CONSTITUTION:One side or both sides of a steel plate are plated with Cu, Ni or Co, or two or more among Cu, Ni and Co in the form of an alloy or in layers. The plate is heated to a temp. close to the recrystallization temp. in an atmosphere having a low H2 concn. below the explosion limit or contg. CO or CO and H2, and it is held for a short time. The heat treated plate is rapidly cooled to a temp. close to the temp. of a molten metallic bath of Zn, Zn-Al alloy or Al with water contg. a reducing compound as required, and immediately it is brought into contact with the bath to carry out hot dipping.
