PURPOSE: To lower stress relief annealing crack sensitivity effectively by adding Ca or Ce to to B-V-contg. steel and regulating an Sfree amt. at below prescribed values.
CONSTITUTION: Ca or Ce which is a sulfide forming element or both thereof are added to B-V-contg. steel, for example, 80-kg/cm2 class high tensile steel contg. 0.0005W0.005% B and 0.01W0.1% V produced in a melting furnace such as electric furnace, whereby its Sfree amt. is regulated to ≤20ppm by the following calculation equation. Sfree=[S-(Ca%/1.25+Ce%/4.38)].
