Abstract
PURPOSE:To effectively demagnetize a permanent magnet to zero in a short time by rotating the permanent magnet between the poles of an electromagnet and applying single pulse electric field from the poles of the electromagnet to the permanent magnet. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic field generator 2 has a coil 2a and poles 3. Fixing means for fixing or containing a permanent magnet 1 is connected to a rotary drive unit such as a motor separately secured through a shaft 5a. A power source 7 for generating a pulsating current is connected to the coil 2a via a cable 6. The poles of the permanent magnet 1 are disposed in the same direction as the generator 2 and are mounted by fixing means 4 to the center of the poles 3, the means 4 is rotated by a motor 5 together with the permanent magnet 1, and an input pulse 8 from the power source 7 is applied thereto.
