Abstract

PURPOSE: To ensure the perfect demagnetization with no uneveness by providing the magnetic field generator which generates the magnetic field in the winding direction of the demagnetized tape, giving the magnetic field while turning the magnetic field generator and then giving attenuation gradually.
CONSTITUTION: Electromagnet 12 is provided at the lower part of tape mounting plate 11, and then fixed to rotary plate 13 to be turned along with generation of magnetic field 6 in the winding direction of demagnetized tape 14. Electrode 18 and 19 are attached to shaft 16 of plate 13, and thus the power is supplied to exciting coils 23 and 24 of the electromagnet via contact terminals 20 and 21. At the same time, plate 13 is turned by motor 25. Tape 14 is placed onto plate 11, and push-button 27 is pressed. Thus the electric conduction is secured between magnet 12 and motor 25, and as a result magnet 12 generates the saturation magnetic field and also rotates along the winding of the tape. After this, the magnetic field is attenuated gradually by control unit 22 and down to zero. Here button 27 is released to complete the demagnetization. Thus the perfect demagnetization is possible with no unevenness.
