Abstract

CONSTITUTION:The peripheral surface of the cylindrical rotor core 1 is nonuniformly worked so that the radius of the arc of the core part having slots for fitting a field coil 2 is made smaller than that of the arc of the slotless core part for poles. The reluctance of a direct-axis magnetic circuit D is thus made higher than that of a quadrature-axis magnetic circuit Q. This results in suppressing the quadrature-axis component of the reaction of the armature, reducing the change in the phase of caused electromotive force due to the increase in the armature current and widening the range of the load torque under which a commutatorless motor can be safely driven.
